45 Super

Any one have any experience running 45 super out of a Glock 21 I know I need to change the barrel, guide rod and spring. Just looking to see if any one has used it and what there thoughts are.

Glock generally has a "Fuck you" attitude towards non-factory loadings and lead bullets. If I were to do it, I'd contact a pro-shop familiar with the loading AND the pistol, and see what they recommend. I figure a heavier ported barrel, fully supported chamber, and beefier guide rod and springs would be in order, as well as more frequent inspections for broken/cracked parts.

I don't have any experience but I thought of buying a .460 Rowland conversion for my 1911, but they also sell them for XD's and Glocks you might want to check them out they come with a compensated barrel and recoil spring assembly for $300 hope this helps.

I dont know if I'd trust either .45 Super or .460 Rowland to the shitty little pivot link and pin in a 1911. It's going to be a failure point.

And then theres the changing magazine geometry to worry about.

I'd be a lot more likely to trust something like this in a more modern design (read: anything after a 1911, with Browning-style locking lugs)
