Yeah, I think you've had one or two too many in your chamber already. Time for you to go sleep it off.JeeperCreeper wrote:I keep my clips full.
But my revolver mags are always one less than full, but one in the chamber.

Re: How full is YOUR magazine?
when I use to carry for duty they would always be full cause why not if it has the space? and my mags are still full. I heard that it's ok to keep them full and it won't damage the spring at all.

Yeah, I do that with my Cimarron repros and old 3-screw Blackhawk....since they don't recommend having the hammer down on a live round.JeeperCreeper wrote:But my revolver mags are always one less than full, but one in the chamber.

Hahaha very true...RickOShea wrote:Yeah, I do that with my Cimarron repros and old 3-screw Blackhawk....since they don't recommend having the hammer down on a live round.JeeperCreeper wrote:But my revolver mags are always one less than full, but one in the chamber.
Honest answer: depends on the mags and what gun.
I normally don't keep most of my guns loaded.
I typically have one AR 30 round mag loaded with 20... only because that's a box of premium ammo.
If my handgun has really tight springs like my XD45, I normally load it to 10/13 or 7/10 rounds.
If it has a looser spring, like most of my hicap 9mms, I run 15 or so.
I do believe it doesn't matter with modern springs, but I guess I don't run them full capacity unless I'm carrying them. Superstition or habit, I guess...

Re: How full is YOUR magazine?
For what it's worth I worked in law enforcement for 18.5 years. Carried fully loaded 18 round magazines everyday. Cycled out the ammo and filled them back up during range qualification. Still have the same exact magazines and I have never had to change a single spring, follower, floor plate or magazine body. Still use these magazines to this day.
