Used Glock 22's for $349.

Seems like a great deal to me. I am considering getting one and a conversion barrel to give myself the option of .40 S&W in my battery of weapons.

While it's a decent deal, they can almost always be found around that price. It's not unusual or anything. Get one and enjoy :)

Almost always? =Maybe once you factor in shipping and transfer, but $349 is a bit of an anomaly for a Gen 3 gun.

Not in my experience. the G22 is probably the most common police gun in the U.S. by a large margin. There always seem to be tons of trade ins out there for around that price.

Heck, there are a bunch of $319 Gen3 G22s at GT. Also, anybody that has the ability to purchase "blue line" guns (you can Doc) can get brand new Gen3 or Gen4 ones for $398.20 to $425.

Yep, that's how I get my glocks (blue label),another reason to volunteer/join the Rescue Squad or FD. Plus they give you 3 factory mags for the "standard" pistols. They are cheaper than the used glocks they sell on the gun trader sights.

A blue label gun here in Jacksonville is I think $475 out the door for the gun at Wild West. Most places do not seem to have them in stock like ever. I bought my G26 at normal price because I could not seem to find anyone who had a blue label one in Jacksonville for the longest time.

I was thinking of a Glock 22 so I could get a conversion barrel and have a good weapon for two calibers, as well as an alternate carry piece when the Glock 26 (or lcp, or sp101 or...yeah I have to many carry guns) seems a bit light.

Glocks are pretty hardy guns, and other then qualifications I don't imagine most police trade ins get shot a whole lot. A few hundred rounds a year is not bad so they probably have a lot of life left in them and a savings of $125 bucks is not bad.

It's a great way to do it. Doc could get a brand new Gen4 or Gen3 G22 for $398.20, the price is set by Glock. Not even $50 more then the $349 used guns for a brand new Gen4. Active and retired military qualifies, among other things. The higher $425 price is for GSSF people like me.

If you qualify for the blue label guns, the price is set by Glock. Is that Jacksonville FL? I'm not familiar with the area but there are probably more then one blue label dealers for FL, you can contact Glock to get a list.

Yeah I am active navy. The $475 was their out the door price on a blue label G19 I called about. So with taxes and such it still seems they are over charging me I guess.

$5 less on the gun a buck higher on shipping, free hand pick. I got a used gen 3 17 from this guy few years ago.

I bought my 34 from GT distributors for $480, and had it transferred to my local FFL for $25

Looks like the NIB blue label is $398 on the 22 with $20 shipping.

Posted in the other Glock 22 topic in handguns:

Not $299, but still cheap at $319, 2 mags, and Gen 3 22's instead of Gen 2.

That's an awesome price. All I find at the gun shows in my area are the 500 dollar gen 2 g22s. Worse yet are the beaten to hell G27s going for a bit more than that.

Used Glock 22s for $349
Used "minute-of-barn-door" hosers = Junk.

C'mon, put that cash toward a NIB accurate pistol.

I have a police trade-in Gen 3 G22 that's not a "minute of barn door" hoser. It looks fairly nice, sans some holster wear and a couple nicks, and the bore is still solid. Police guns don't get shot a whole lot.

Generally, that's true. But every G22 & G23 I shot, new or used, was a MOBD gun.
The only exceptional .40 I've ever shot was an early Sig 229. The S&W 3rd Gen 40XX-series were the worst. Not so with their 9mm, 10mm, or .45acp counterparts.

Someone looking at a G22 in the "used" price range can make a better choice with those dollars.

My police trade-in S&W 4566 for not much more ...

That's also an utterly different gun. Doesn't have Glock parts availability, trigger, capacity, or mag price. I think I'd rather spend $100 or less on a drop-in barrel if I found I had a less-than-accurate gun down the road than try to find ancillary gear for a no-longer-made single-stack DA gun. How bad were the guns you tried? From a rest, or offhand?

I have bought a ton of used guns and been unhappy with only one. A used police issue Smith and Wesson model 10. Cylinder locked up. Took it apart, cleaned it together and screwed the loose screws tighter. After that, it worked great. Some thing used can be beat up or in great shape. I actually purchased one of these models. Night sights are in great condition, almost no wear on slide and frame is in good shape. Shot it the other day, along with a friends Glock 23. Was just as accurate as his one owner Glock 23.

This confuses me to no end. What is your definition of MOBD? Were you shooting like 18" groups at 3 yards? 5" groups at 25 yards? Completely missing the target at contact distances?

What's your definition of NIB accurate?

I'm not a elite shooter but I don't think I've ever shot a pistol in my life, new or used, that wasn't reasonably accurate given a reasonable set of performance expectations (e.g., I don't expect 1" groups at 100 yards with a pocket pistol).
Holmes: "You have arms, I suppose?
Watson: "Yes, I thought it as well to take them."
Holmes: "Most certainly! Keep your revolver near you night and day, and never relax your precautions..."

 back at ya. I'm at least the 3rd owner of a trade in g17 that has run a couple classes just fine, I paid 400. I replaced the recoil spring and firing pin spring and have fired it quite a bit without issue. Not sure how using the pistol makes it inaccurate. I can hit steel at 50yds on the regular and a better shooter than me can use it out to 100 i'm certain. It's also pretty great I can have replacement parts here in 2 days or drive across town for them. DUnno what the deal is with some people just really wanting to hate glocks. They've worked fine for me.
