The Perfect Zombie Shotgun

Postby 1911FMJ » Wed Jun 13, 2012 11:32 am

I know I'm greener than the grass on the other side when it comes to Saigas but I love that gun. I have one that my brothers at Tac47 Industries built for me and no matter what crap I feed that baby - she eats it up and asks for more. Keith and Cliff's Autoplug is an awesome design and honestly, it doesn't matter what brand or load I shoot - I can shoot a 1000 rounds minimum between cleanings and will never miss a beat.

What's even better is that when Keith comes up with a new modification that makes it even more reliable, he lets me know and I swing by and bang (no pun intended) - it's done. Plus Cliff keeps me up to speed on new accessories that make handling it even sweeter.... man, I love those guys.

Their sweet spot may be the Saigas - but they can honestly build anything at Tac47 - that's why I'm building 3 more Saiga 12s with them right now. Those guys are the bomb - and now that they have a new store front - I have a new home!

Smells like Spam around here. But thankfully, we have new smilies to address this- :clownshoes:

I, too, love my Saiga and have a TAC-47 Auto-Plug, but that's some utterly shameless whoring of a company that is, without question, nothing but spam.

I can only hope that the boys at TAC - 47 didn't put you up to this, and it's just an accident that you registered on this website to immediately start making their company look really, really bad.

The perfect zombie shotgun must be loaded with birdshot!

No, seriously, the perfect zombie shotgun is a Glock 19.

Kinda prefer the Winchester 1300 using Aguila 1 1/2 inch slugs (gives a max capacity of 12+1)

Thanks for the warm welcome :words: - I know I've found a home :? .
No doubt I'm clearly new to your forum, but I've been preaching and speaking zombie ways for years so it seemed like the perfect place and time to thump my chest about how happy I am dealing with these guys - especially after my most recent acquisition, which I am thrilled about. For the record, I'm not into slamming the bad ones out there (and trust me - I got a long list) but I will always talk up the good ones. Anybody that treats me good, gets treated good back. So just to clear the air of the smell of burped up spam and half eaten crow - I'm just a super satisfied customer and client. Period.

Now hopefully having smoothed all feathers and calmed all minds, has anyone been able to get a Kel-Tec KSG yet? True I'm not much of a pump guy but that and the UTAS UTS-15 have quasi peaked my interest.

No ruffled feathers or lack of calm here. Welcome. :D Have handled the Kel-Tec but have not fired one. Find bullpups interesting but a bit awkward. Do love the Saigas though I have neither owned nor fired one. Am a big fan of stuff proven to work. Winchester handles the Aguila rounds without modification and so offers the highest round count in a proven platform with which I am comfortable.

Don't mind us, we're far too ironic to let a first time poster crowing about a commercial enterprise escape without some razzing. Consider this your baptism by fire. In fact, you should be thankful, one of my very first posts out and out violated forum rules. Yet these bozos let me stick around anyway!

Welcome to ZS and you're right: there's something inexplicably sexy about unusual high capacity shotguns.

As much as i want to get one of these for the hell of it, I just can't justify having multiple shotguns in the safe

The perfect zombie shotgun is one that operates well, with no problems. My personal favorite shotgun is a mossberg 500. I'm more of a pump action guy.
Set that puppy up with some simple, yet very useful accesories, such as shotshell holders, and maybe a flashlight/laser combo. Fill it with some slugs, and your off to the races. Simple, yet very, very effective.

The Perfect Zombie Shotgun

As far as I'm concerned there is one contemporary shotgun that reigns supreme. The Remington 870 express, the only shotgun I'll ever need and IMO the best gun on the market.
If your going for extreme epicness, a old school Winchester coach gun side by side is the most badass option, but tactically not so sound.

My favorite shotgun is my S&W super12. Lots of people don't like this gun, but for me it is my most reliable and accurate shotgun.

I actually do love the 1887, lever actions are just cool. I also love the Mossy and the 870 (I'm mostly a pump guy) but The Winchester is the only one that reliably feeds mini-shells without modification making it the highest capacity conventional configuration pump that also uses standard shells.

My department went with Mossies as well. That said, practice your manual of arms with one hand from time to time. Wouldn't want to learn that on the fly:

I remember when that whole situation went down. And yes, manual of arms with one hand on any firearm you own is a good idea.

Mossberg 5000 with extended mag and loaded with #4 copper plated buckshot. full choke. ghost ring sights if you feel like getting fancy.
just one guy's free opinion. no doubt well worth the price.
