Show and Tell thread, Longarm edition

Postby PistolPete » Sun Feb 06, 2011 10:12 pm

Much like the Hot or Not thread in the General section, this is one devoted for rifles and shotguns. To remind you of the rules this for posting pictures of guns you own. Only. Pictures. No discussion please.

And the current American pinnacle... in it's mild commercial copy form :P

(On the left.) Bushmaster XM-15E2S of late 1990s vintage, ban-era A2 with crowned muzzle and no bayonet lug. When the ban sunsetted I removed the factory A2 stock and replaced it with the telescoping M4 stock by Ace. The rifle is fitted with an Under The Gun quad rail (cheap, heavy, but it works). On the 6:00 rail is a SureFire G2 Nitrolon on a Viking Tactics offset mount. At 9:00 is a Viking Tactics padded sling (MultiCam) on a Midwest Industries Quick-Detach Heavy Duty sling mount. And a no-name VFG.

Image

Edited to add, a more recent photo of the same weapon. The UTG quad rail has been removed. The factory handguards have been restored, with a length of cheapo aluminum rail screwed into the 12:00 surface. The VTAC mount and MI sling mount have been relocated to this position. The weapon has been fitted with a Strac Grip, by Strac Technologies. The weapon is much lighter in this configuration.

Here is what I have at home. I have others but they are in my Brother's gun safe in Northern California. When We had kids I was forced to take them up there.

10/22 with cheap red dot. Recent purchase for son, who is now 11 and getting introduced to firearms.
Image

Marlin 336 in 30-30. This one is dated by serial to 1976 and is getting a 4x scope this year before Deer season.
Image

Remington 870 with factory sights and smoothbore "Slugster" Barrel. Also have a 28" full choke barrel for this.

Okay, technically not a rifle-Spike's Tactical AR Pistol...with several mods 8)
I'll post my latest AR build when it's complete-so far it's got a 14.5-inch 1:7 floating barrel, forged upper and lower, mil-spec receiver extension and will be suppressed with FA capability :D
I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety labels off everything and let the problem solve itself?
