I could've sworn that AGP arms, an offshoot of AGP turbo, mills their own lowers:

IF they weren't on the list, it's either because nobody was familiar with them or nobody can confirm that they do it all in house and don't just work form someone else's 80% lower. East Coast Custom Tactical and The Arms Room aren't on the list because they're both relatively small, for now. It wasn't meant to be definitve, just a "Yeah, guess who makes those Noveske lowers you see arfcommers whinging on about?" for the new guys.Vicarious_Lee wrote:I could've sworn that AGP arms, an offshoot of AGP turbo, mills their own lowers:

I see. AGP claims to CNC their own lowers, and the one I have works just fine. It's from the ZS group buy that ended up with some no-assed dogshit engraving of the ZS logo on it. I think that everyone that got and built on one reports that they behave milspekishly enough. PMAGs drop free, and all that.Doctorr Fabulous wrote:IF they weren't on the list, it's either because nobody was familiar with them or nobody can confirm that they do it all in house and don't just work form someone else's 80% lower. It's pretty hard to go wrong with lowers. Uppers, on the other hand...Vicarious_Lee wrote:I see. AGP claims to CNC their own lowers, and the one I have works just fine. Re: All purpose "Help me build my AR" thread.
This happened to a friend of a friend today. I know that the gun is a rock river several years old. Not sure how many rounds have been put through it. They were shooting brass 55gr when it broke. It fired the round normally but the next bullet to load was stuck. Any ideas as to the root cause of this failure?

Re: All purpose "Help me build my AR" thread.
Just guessing, since the bolt is dry with almost no carbon on it and with the majority of the finish still on it, it was a no go from the factory. Poor quality metal or wildly out of spec parts.
It wasn't due to over use.

Shooting my friend's Noveske 300blk SBR for the first time the other day, and experienced the mythical "blown primer stuck behind the gas key" malfunction. What a helluva thing to happen. It was a real bitch to clear.

LAPG has 15% "July2013" until the 8th. They have the lowest price I've seen on RMRs right now, if someone's looking for one.
I think they have some other AR stuff.

Re: All purpose
Happens quite often when firing 5.56 from a .223 chamber (over pressure) which means either the chamber is too tight (probably not with a Noveske) or the rounds are too hot (or set back or some other issues). Bad juju either way.Ten Eight wrote:UndeadInfidel wrote:Shooting my friend's Noveske 300blk SBR for the first time the other day, and experienced the mythical "blown primer stuck behind the gas key" malfunction. Re: All purpose "Help me build my AR" thread.
I haven't been able to shoot my AR-15 much at all since I finished building it, because I got it done right before the Freakout of 2013 and couldn't afford ammo. But since prices are beginning to come down and I've got some cash on hand, I want to begin shooting it more.
I'd like to get a sling, but don't really know a lot about them. From what I've read online, I don't think I'd like a three-point, and I think I'd like a single point better than a traditional two-point. I've been advised by a relative to get a bungee two-point like Magpul's MS2 and that I can simply attach it like a single.
Any sling advice?

Not sure. I have only seen that once about 20 years ago with a military issue bolt. The Commander claimed that the soldier had caused the weapon to break by not cleaning it (after a consultation with the BN MG).Bearcat wrote:This happened to a friend of a friend today. I would go with factory defect though. And keep a spare handy, JIC.
You go 'round and around it
You go over and under

Agreeeed. If we ever do another group buy, we need to get ZS embroidered on them.

Re: All purpose "Help me build my AR" thread.
I have a Blueforcegear 2 point sling, and I'll be honest, I think it's just OK. I'm a low-speed, high-drag operator though, so I'm sure some people would utilize it more appropriately than I do. I know a lot of people think it's the tits though.
Re: All purpose "Help me build my AR" thread.
I ordered a ares husky way back in January. Still no sling for me.
Anyone use the ares husky on say a hunting shotgun , or lever action rifle?

I use mine on my 870, but it's a "tactical" model. Had to install a QD point on the right side of the stock. It's a Noveske qd attachment.Rednex wrote:I ordered a ares husky way back in January. Still no sling for me.

Uh, you should call them. I've gotten at least 2 since then.
I use em on everythign: Messenger bag, ak, ar's, 15-22. If I had a shotty, it'd have one.

Re: All purpose "Help me build my AR" thread.
A similar sling is available in a slightly wider sling with no padding, it has a slider with a loop: http://www.botachtactical.com/kz6.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. It would be Version 2, which tightens when you push the slider forward, with thumbhole, which is what they call the loop. $20 shipped.
"Flawlessly". Every time I see this word in a thread, I brace myself for bullshit. Around half the time I end up feeling vindicated.
