So, you're basically making a S&W M&P MOE

Without the S&W?

Not I. I personally don't like the look of the 'all-Magpul' rifle. My shorty has a MOE forend and a rear sight, that's it.

I am building a MOE on an armalite base. I hate buying stuff, then changing m mind and switching everything around, but hey, thats why the AR system is so awesome. I can't wait until they come out with a mid-length and rifle length MOE handguard :D
Thanks Anianna!

Man, I can't stand the MOE pistol grip, or any grip with such a high backstrap for that matter. MIAD? Sure. MOE? No.

really? i suppose this is a matter of personal specifics, else wise they wouldn't have made it a kit.

but then again, you like glocks, and id be more accurate if i throw the damn thing at the target rather than shoot it :)

me too. Tried so hard to convince myself to buy a Glock. Couldn't stand the grip either. MOE feels good tho. Personal preference.

I prefer Hogue and Tangodown as far as pistol grips are concerned. I like the MOE forend (so far) and only got the rear sight because it was at cost. Otherwise I would have gone with another MI rear sight or a DD A1 style.

Can someone explain the difference between the MOE and the CTR stocks?

The CTR has an extra friction lock underneath, that makes it quite sturdy for a adjustable stock that uses the M4 buffertube. The CTR also has a hole for a QD slingmount.

The MOE is an plainer version without the friction lock and the QD hole. It's also cheaper.

Made of the purest form of Unobtanium ever known to man.

I'm a real Magpul-hore, and I've just ordered a MOE handguard and the enhanced rubber buttpad(for my UBR) plus a DD A1.5 sight.
I'm also waiting for the B.A.D to be available from the dealer I ordered 2pcs from...

And for those who'll say that one should rather spend $ on ammo I can say that I've just bought myself a complete .223 reloading kit (for my Dillon 550) and 4000 bullets, I just need to get my hands on some brass and powder and I'll be able to shoot my AR more too...

Might as well buy gun parts while primers are hard to find. :D

I had to go with the MIAD. The Tango Down Battle Grip I had on it was far too narrow for my size XXXL hands to get a proper grip on; it was causing me to have to contort my trigger finger. I assembled the MIAD into the fattest possible configuration, without the finger nub on the front strap, and was finally able to get a proper grip on the gun. Without that fat ass backstrap, I couldn't get my hand up high around the lower where it was supposed to be.

Agree....XXXL hands & MIAD at it's "fattest possible configuration".

I don't have large hands, and I still run the MIAD with the plain frontstrap and the biggest backstrap to get the ergonomics that I like.
