What flashlight for my Elzetta Shotgun Flashlight Mount?

Post by phydaux » Wed Dec 21, 2016 11:55 am

So I'm looking to add a Elzetta Tactical Shotgun Flashlight Mount to my Remington 870 with extended magazine tube. I'm wondering what flashlight to use.

My first thought was a regular Maglite AA LED flashlight. The Elzetta web site says I can mount any flashlight from 0.7 to 1.1 inches, 18 to 27mm. The shaft of a AA Maglite is 18mm, so it should fit no problem.

What says the board?

Something sturdier.

"Flawlessly". Every time I see this word in a thread, I brace myself for bullshit. Around half the time I end up feeling vindicated.

I have an Elzetta light mount on my AR and I really like it. It is solid and very unobtrusive. For lights you can't go wrong with a Surefire.
I am not a 'gray man'. I am a brown man, coyote brown. With FDE highlights, of course.

Yeah, I was afraid a Maglite wouldn't hold up.

Surefire was more than I was wanting to spend.

Streamlight and Bushnell make pretty good lights.

I've got a pair of Bushnell lights I keep on my AKs and they seem pretty sturdy. I don't remember the model numbers offhand, but I remember they're the 325 lumen models.
