Building a Mosin Nagant T53

Post by TrippyJoey » Mon Apr 28, 2014 12:11 pm

So last week a friend's friend posted on a fb group a parts kit composed of all the parts left over from his T53 after he upgraded to an Archangel stock. I decided to research a bit how much it would cost to order a receiver, barrel, and bolt since it's all that was missing and found them for $60 shipped so I decided to pull the trigger to get the parts kit. It's all there except a screw for the bayonet and the stock has a crack where one of the buttstock plate bolts goes but it's not something I can't fix. Luckily I didn't have to pay for it just gave him a few .22 and 9mm rounds I had leftover and wasn't gonna use anymore. So, so far $0 invested on this build, hopefully I can have a fully functioning Mosin rifle for under $100 by the time I'm done. Anyone else done something similar?

Well it was a barreled action for $45 from a man another store that did work on Mosin's recommended me. I understood $60 for the receiver, barrel, and bolt but apparently I misunderstood over the phone. The man's name is Tom Rule.
