I wish Sig sold the 553s here. I might have to get one to add to my collection of things I have no reason to own.

My bad, I should really learn how to read. :clownshoes:

But yes, I really do want a 551A1 but they are so god awfully expensive. I bet I can warrant it sometime in my future...

Sig 553 were being imported as a pistol a year or two ago.
But the asking price was like 4 grand!

Plus the parts were all Swiss and the muzzle wasn't threaded.
Even if you put in the form 1 to make it a rifle you still had work to do and a shit load more money for us parts to be 922 compliant.

Too rich for my blood

Sig does sell a Swiss import 553 pistol here in the US. They go for about $3k, you can find a bunch on gunbroker. You're but a Form 1 away from having a legit Swiss 553 SBR.

Don't forget threading the muzzle, adding a stock, and 922r compliance.

SBR on a sig 553 pistol will get very pricey real quick

OK

Just when you think your done and your not spending any more money on your Sig 553 clone....you finally find an "affordable" option for swiss style rear sights.

http://mfiap.com/i-21836667-blem-damage ... sight.html

MFI (Fallbrook CA just outside of Camp Pendelton) has been trying to make an affordable option for replacing the crap sights on a sig 556 with something closer to the Swiss style.

I have been following this for three years now and Mike Frost at MFI is putting his first offering on the market.

A full set will retail at close to 300 (a bargin compare to real swiss sights).
Right now he is offering slightly blemished sights for 155 shipped if you get the rear sight only.

Worth checking out. I bought two sets of the blemished.

I'm pumped

Got my MFI Swiss Style Sig 556 rear sit with rail today and I got to say I’m happy
It is a worthwhile upgrade for anybody who owns a Sig 556.
Just remember the rear doesn’t match up to the Sig 556 usa front site. Only matches up to a swiss front sight or the front sight offered my MFI.

They seem pretty solid.
The finish is great nice coloring in the number.
Bolts on tight to receiver.
Installation took 10 minutes

I really like the Swiss cross on the rail to give it that little bit extra.
I’m hoping to get out to site in sometime this week.

Those sights were supposed to be out years go, but they ran into manufacturing difficulties. I got the announcement email too, but sold my Sig 556 sometime in 2012 to someone who was very happy to get it.
