Magpul STR
Magpul CTR
a couple of PSA M4 stocks.

I like the compartments and cheek weld on the STR, but I also like that the CTR is a little lighter; the M4 stocks because thats what came with the build kits.

I agree. And if not a stock, then a cheap BCG etc etc. this is why I build all of my own AR's.

Magpul MOE Rifle

because i dont like collapsible stocks they wobble, pinch and suck. the the slimmer, lighter and shorter MOE Rifle is better than the A2 stock. Add in the sling points and you got a winner

Pretty much all of the decent Magpul stocks have a locking mechanism that cinches them down tight on the tube with hardly any wobble. The only pinching I've really been annoyed by is the beard-killing VLTOR stock.

On my pinned to 16" AR-15, I have a Magpul STR. This stock is the schnizzle. The instant cheekeeld and lack of rattle make it a very quick shooter.

On my 24" AR10, I have an A2 stock that I find lacking in comparison to the SRT. I am playing with the idea of a MOE rifle stock or a (What everyone has) PRS.
I am not a 'gray man'. I am a brown man, coyote brown. With FDE highlights, of course.

Currently its the CTR, for two reasons: it's light, and it was free.

CTR plus a .25" riser on my AK- eliminates the beard snagging issue and gives a better cheek weld.

I have a B5 sopmod Bravo on a "black and tan" PSA middy. I wanted to be able to use the Ares Armor sling with qd's. I like it a lot.

I have a FAB "recoil reducing" stock on another M4, but mostly I got it because of the qd socket location also.

On a .22 trainer (CMMG .22 upper) I went with an enhanced M4 stock from PSA which is like the regular mil-spec but has the qd sockets, allowing me to run the same sling on the rimfire trainer. It was, I think, $30 with an A2 grip and carbine handguard included the week I got it. I like it, so far.

So, I guess I really like sling qd's.
"Flawlessly". Every time I see this word in a thread, I brace myself for bullshit. Around half the time I end up feeling vindicated.

I've got a MOE on one (because I was replacing the pistol grip and handguard, and it seemed silly not to get a stock to match. Also, pretty green. :v:

The other rifle has the CavArms lower...so the stock is pretty much a given. :awesome: It's right about A1 length, IIRC.

I use 2 different stocks. A few are the Magpul STR but my preference is hands down the B-5. I have been changing everything to them when I find a good deal on one.

Right now I'm running the b5 sopmod one that is without battery storage. Have done ACS, MOE, Emods. I like the b5 pretty good. Emod probably the best, but they are unrealistically expensive imo.

I have a standard M4 6 position on my lightweight carbine . It came with the Rock River LPK I used to build the rifle . I like it fine , but have considered swapping it out to a MOE or Sopmod , but don't really feel like dropping money into a rifle that is basically a backup .

I use a Defensive Edge Sully stock on my midlength and love it . It is solid urethane and hell for stout, nothing on it to fail or break . It is pretty much the perfect LOP for me (equal to one position out on a collapseable ) It is somewhat on the heavy side , but I find that to be a plus as it balances out the rifle quite well , which I feel is more important than overall weight .

I first used the Sully on a Grail rifle during a carbine class and fell in love with it , when I started to put together my midlength , it was the first part I ordered .

I bought mine almost 20 years ago, and it had been sitting in a junk box for almost 15 years until I used it on the IDF clone.

When you can find them, the repros are usually a good bit cheaper than surplus ones.: http://www.tonyscustomsllc.com/product/ ... -aluminum/

Anyone know where to find an old/early non-ribbed type M4/Colt Commando stock?

The plastic ones? Check amazon, or just about anywhere that sells the chinese parts. I think I have a bin full of them somewhere.

Alright, my google-fu is shit today.

Thanks.

I tried all the little places, didn't think of the big obvious ones.

Well, seems like most of 'em have the ribs. Those two are the only non-ribbed ones I could find. There are a couple of places that have the smooth aluminums, but they seem to run from $100 to $150.....And those are repros. I'd hate to think what someone would want for an original.
