M43 Coruna Mauser- what to sell/trade for?

Post by Shadoq » Sat Mar 02, 2013 9:26 pm

Looking for some help here. If this is inappropriate for these boards, please let me know.
Finally got myself a bolt action I've been lusting after for a while; Remmy 1903A3 30-06.
I've got a Coruna M43 Spanish Mauser that is now surplus to my needs.

As you can see, someone decided to drill and tap this thing for scope mounts and removed the sight slider bar and spring.
I shot up my minimal supply of 8mm ammo and with the '03 have no desire to have to stock an additional caliber beyond the calibers I already have (30-06. 7.62, 5.56, 45ACP, 9mm, 22LR).
With that said, this thing still shoots better than me with Prvi ammo.

So the question becomes, what should I realistically sell this for? And more importantly what would people REALISTICALLY pay for this? I'm really not expecting much at all and at this point would be more willing to do a trade for some ammo or something. I'd kill to get an Eberlestock F3F FAC track but I don't see that one happening...

Again, not trying to post an ad, just trying to get an honest valuation.
Thanks guys!

How much do you have in it?

I'm thinking you'd get around $100 or so. If it hadn't been drilled for a scope you could get more out of it if you found a rear sight leaf. If you have any scope rings you don't mind letting go of it might be a good idea to affix them, with decent rings I'd ask $150 and take 125. The reason I price it so low is because it was sporterized, and collectors won't touch it. Maybe you could market it to someone looking to make it into a decent sporter.

I don't always use stainless steel, but when I do, I prefer Sandvik.
