Good advice, except that sometimes local jurisdictions have different laws. Knowing state and local laws is a key part of firearms ownership.
You're right, I always call the local guys first. And the dude contacted the local guys and the local cop said he doesn't know the laws. It's just my bad experiences coming out. Getting legal gun advice from the local guys is like trying to herd cats.
