Any advice as to which is best? Or, a link to a better kit that is also in stock (or will be reasonably soon)? From what they were telling me at Addax, pars of any kind are really hard to get right now...

This will be my first lower that I've built up myself, so I want to make sure I do it right...

Thanks!

Of the two, RRA, but PSA has cheap quality kits http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.ph ... c-lpk.html I bought a PSA kit for this build when they had a free shipping sale.

I have not, but I got several messages from Tom at QD on Friday about a problem with my card number, but I was out of town all weekend and they aren't open until tomorrow.

I got a PSA kit as well.

I havent gotten anything other than my order confirmation from QD yet.

I used an RRA kit on mine. Also, I had to do a little work with a small rat tail file on my BCM upper rear take down pin hole to get it to play nicely. Thick anodize, most likely. YMMV.

The DPMS kits are THE most common kit out there. But that also means that you hear the most about them when something doesn't work. The only problem I have had with them was a few of the roll pins (out of many, many dozens of different roll pins in the many kits I have used) have been out of spec. They are sometimes a tad large or long. Other than that they are fine. Almost every company that offers LPKs gets their parts from the same 2-3 places. That said, PSA usually has the best deal on them.

I haven't. My order went in March 28th and I haven't received any correspondence from Quentin Defense since then since then.

Okay, so gonna paint the rollmarks today.

Normally I use Testors' "field gray" for everything except the safety and fire markings, but since I already have bright white on the other side of the lower, I'm toying with the notion of going all white on it.

What do folks think about the bright white markings? I think other people have prior-gen ZS lowers with white markings... how do they look? I'm just not sure if I want that much brightness on a weapon... but, then again, the bar code on the other side is already white...

I never got a shipping notice but my lower showed up anyway :D

QD was outstanding to deal with. I requested a particular serial number and i got it. I ordered my lower parts kit from QD and when they saw the second order come thru for the parts kit they called me to ask if i wanted to ship it all together to save some money on shipping. While disscussing shipping i asked them if they would assemble the lower for me and was told if they had the time they would and well it showed up assembled. I couldnt be happier with how this went. Many thanks to QD and to those who made this group buy happen. If i ever meet any of you ill be sure to buy you a beer.

Now where is the show off your sweet ZS lower thread

Just did, I've been waiting until pretty much everyone else got theirs since I was one of the last couple to actually order.

Finally painted the rollmarks...

Getting the ZS filled in without looking ugly was surprisingly difficult... honestly, I'm still not 100% happy with it.

Anyway, got all the parts in now except for the stock, which I ordered yesterday... likely build it up over the weekend. This'll be my first build, so wish me luck!

Then, I'll just have to wait for my upper to be finished... *sigh*

This one's gonna be a 16" barrel chambered in .300 BLK. 8-)

Here piggy, piggy, piggy... Looking forward to some feral hog hunting in the TX hill country once we finally get settled in.

Not there yet! Still sittin' in a hotel room over here in Germany..wrapping up work until we fly out next Friday. Gonna spend a couple weeks in ATL (pick up my cars) then down to FL to title a car I bought over here, update my driver's license, etc... oh yeah, and pick up the 4 lowers I've had on order forever waiting for me to get back home!

Have 3 of the UCWRG on the way to an FFL near my mom's house (still my home of record while I'm Active Duty) and just trying to get Quentin Defense to send the OD upper/lower there as well.

Jason: hope you see this...looks like you responded to a much earlier PM. I sent another a couple days ago w/the FFL contact info. I imagine your PM inbox is swamped!

I'm still waiting as well, so you aren't the only one. I think their shop is mostly people who actually work, they probably don't have a secretary that regularly checks email.

I did think they were doing them all at once. I am a little perplexed by the lengthy wait time. I am a patient man, but this is turning into a NFA wait time....
