So, who's running this group buy? I got some questions I need answered...

Anyway, the board is granting use of the logo for a proof. Once the proof comes in, photograph the hell out of it, link the pics, and we'll make sure it looks right before granting use on a full production run.

We don't want a repeat of last year's cock up where the logo looked like crap :gonk:

Ok, I sent an email off to QD. They are closed until tomorrow. I am trying to find out how much it will cost to have a prototype made up, and what information they will need from us to do the logo. I will relay that information to whomever it needs to go to as soon as it comes in. If it ends up being me, I guess I'll order it too. I have also asked them if we have any chance to name the particular model, as they have been pretty flexible with everything else. If they say yes, we can open up a whole 'nuther can of worms and see what people want, or the big brains in charge can pick something like ZS-15. I don't know if it is possible yet, but I'll see what I can do.

Um, I've been lurking this thread due to the fact that the last batch I ALMOST got in on.... and realized I totally dodged the bullet (no puns).

But can I just say that this made me all "warm and fuzzy" when I saw that? Is that normal?

I might be in for 2 as well. Never know when you'll need to build another rifle.

Any interest in Zombie Squad lowers? (Poll added)

Postby zombiegristle » Wed Jan 25, 2012 2:31 am

I interested to see the prototype, I tried rereading the thread to get an idea of what options are being looked at, and couldn't tell what we're planning on doing for selector markings? Or is that still up in the air? I'm probably back in for one, love the ZS logo and custom serials, and ZS-15 sounds awesome for the model. Is that with "cal multi" as well?

The selector markings were polled in another thread that was locked to avoid confusion. Bullet pictograms had the lead, so I assume that's what we're gonna do.

It was actually this thread (up at the top there) and pictograms won out. Bullet and no bullet markings.

I really like what QD did there with his engraving and would like to see that with the ZS symbol on one side, and the stuff in the pic below on the other side (the barcode can go away, or be replaced with a QR code as far as I care).

If that level of professional quality was used in the lower, I would pick one up right now for $150, sure.

I don't even care about the SNs starting with ZS, though it would be neat, or the caliber marking being ZS-15 though that would be neat too.

UPDATE!

Postby gun toting monkeyboy » Wed Jan 25, 2012 1:54 pm

I spoke with Jason at Quentin Defense. He is doing a mock up with our engraving, and he will post the pictures of it on here when it is done. Here is what it will have:

ZS logo on both sides of the mag well
ZS serial number
The model name will be ZS-15
Pictogram selector markings

As they stated in previous posts, it will be available to us in black, gray, and OD green. It looks like this is going to happen.

Sold. I'm in. Nw I have to figure out what color, and why I want an AR in the first place...me be I'll build a fiddy.

Unrelated side note: my iPad tried to autocorrect "fiddy" into "diddly". I laughed out loud.
