To be fair, just because we've never heard of it doesn't mean it exists.

Granted, there are a lot of oddball calibers out there.

I said "some" as I've come to the conclusion that some of the people mentioned anonymously in this thread are, in fact, in possession of an extra chromosome when it comes to firearms. I think there's been two or three that were talking about something that did exist (but probably by coincidence), however.

Not a problem. Things get misread all the time -- I know I'm guilty of that, too.

My good freinds brother in law, who happens to be the biggest know it all, grade A d-bag I have ever met stopped by to show off his new varmint rifle. He told us about all the research he did on ballistics and bought himself the finest coyote/prairie dog caliber on the market. He then pulled a Remington 700 bdl chambered in 300 win mag. I about fell off the couch laughing. I feel sorry for any p-dog that is going to meet its demise to a 200 grain bullet! Chances are he will develope a flinch so bad after the first few shots he'll never hit anything anyway.
The greatest trick Skynet ever pulled was convincing the world they don't exist.

Reminds me of my uncle in Wyoming... I think they found the jackrabbit's ear afterward.

Oh, that reminds me: I had someone ask me if this was a .50BMG once.

Remember when Jack Nicholson when was talking trash about Heath Ledger not being able to match him as the Joker? All posthumous hype aside, Ledger actually blew his performance away and then some. Funny.

I used to catch hell from the guys at my old hunting club because my Rem 700 .308 had "Varmint" stamped on the side.

There's only one answer to that: "Why, yes. Yes it is."

Same thing with my old single shot AWD 12 gauge pipe-gun......But then again, the ATF made the company quit making them cause some yahoo hooked a box magazine to one and turned it into an F/A shotty.

.22 Buntline? I believe Charlie Manson used one.
Shot 'em, now I'm gonna hang 'em, then I'm gonna burn 'em!

How the fuck does one turn a single shot pipe-gun into a MG? Tying a shoelace to it or something?

I really wanted to say that, but the person asking was a Game Warden and I didn't want to piss him off.

Since the spring pushes the barrel back a good three inches into a fixed firing pin, I guess technically it would be "blow forward", instead of "blow back", in operation:

I can't remember the model -- I'll be in Springfield, MO for the weekend for a jazz band competition, so I'll have to get back to you Sunday evening or Monday evening.

Looks like an H&R of some kind to me.

A little antique shop in my town had a similar type of H&R a few years ago, but with a shorter barrel.
