Well yes, but those are the Potsies I had in mind.

Start with A Hymn Before Battle. I also hope you don't have anything to do tonight :)

That's why the Army and USMC don't get nukes. We would use them!
I've heard the procedure for firing it as follows:

Set it up and aim it. Dig a hole. Fire it. Jump IN the hole.
Sort of. Hard cover of dirt or 24" concrete, fire weapon, take cover, wait out initial blast, mount vehicle, vacate area before fallout arrives.

and the Army DOES have nukes for both arty and demolitions. They're just very selective which officers they issue them to. It's certain I'll never get any. Because I would use them. But my former CO was formerly a nuclear demolition officer.

Posties. Not potsies. Potsies are nerds on Happy Days.

Though in The Hero, I referred to them as Posies.

How about stuff you can actually buy, own and shoot legally?

Though the Quad .50 is $80 a SECOND to shoot.

Why would activists in trees be a delay? They'll come down when the tree does.

futta, yes, my name is andrew and I am a reader-crack addict. My main suppliers are Ringo, Williamson (mad mike), Webber, Flint, Drake, Kratman, and now Travis.

And I don't plan on quiting.

Feel free to come and check out Ringo's Tavern at Baen's Bar website, John puts out snippets to books he is writting (but never fast enough, that goes the same to you mike) plus almost all Baen authers have there on little place at the bar, where they can be asked questions and talked to and what not. I'm still waiting for Mike to get his own so he dosen't have to keep posting in the the general topic area.

I'm telling you Mike "The Forge" would be a kick ass title.

And that reminds me I have to go check and see if P.o.W. is out yet.

The reason you don't see books from the rest of us is because Ringo is choking Baen with his hastily scrawled ramblings.;-)

But I did just contract a new book.

It has a high body count.

Yet.

Is it just me or doesn anyone else find it incredibly lame to post pictures of fictional weapons on this post. I mena seriously if I how is it impressive at all to look at CGI pics of big guns, they are make believe. since they are not real it comes down simply to a cpmpetition of who can draw the biggest scarriest looking gun.

Ill take a real gun that looks bad ass any day and spare me the fake guns, they are a waste of time and anergy to sift through.

I gotcha. I just fail to see how anyone can find the remotest sense of appreciation for a fictional firearm. Just my opinions, do as you all will.

This is a snapshot of an old punt boat and punt gun (1 1/2" bore) the market hunters used here years ago on the great lakes. They use it to make noise at the annual duck hunters show in southern MI.

Punt guns are more akin to a cannon than they are a shotgun. They used to be loaded with anything the 'coonasses' around my house could get their hands on (nails glass tacks etc). General SOP was to row into a group of ducks just before daybreak and set off this 'gun'.

My dad's shotgun shell collection includes a few 2gauge shells, personally I don't think I'd have the balls to shoot something like that, especially if it was lashed to the front of a plywood kayak.
