Finally got in enough of my parts today to begin the assemble on my host pistol for my suppressor.

The suppressor should be in around my birthday in October....if I'm lucky.

As I have said before in an earlier post, I bought a Tactical Solutions Pac-Lite upper receiver.

http://www.tacticalsol.com/tshome/tactical-solutions-pac-lite-barrel-upgrade-for-the-ruger-2245-and-mk-series-pistols

Image

Today I got my Aluminum Grip Frame from Volquartsen...this thing is as light as a feather....and has a match trigger.

https://www.volquartsen.com/products?utf8=%E2%9C%93&q=grip+frame

Image

Throw in to the mix a bolt assembly and mainspring latch assembly from Brownells and Ruger.....

Image

And this is what you come up with....

Image

Very light....I'm waiting on mags now...have 4 on order.

Also I have a request in to CTC.....I'm trying to get a set of laser grips with an IR laser...but I'll run Houge until that happens.

I'll post after this weekend..... I hope to shoot it Saturday.

200 rounds .45 acp
1000 rounds 5.56mm (M193)

I got the 5.56 for $.33/round out the door, which is darn good for a local purchase around here-abouts.

Echo2, that looks like a pretty freaking sweet set up you are going to have. I hope you start a thread on it when you get it done to show it off. Post some target pics too and range vid if you can. Badass.

200 rounds of Hornady 6.5 Grendel 123 grain AMax. Just to see how this Grendel upper shoots.

Gun show find:

Model 37 Winchester single shot 12 ga. Barrel was cut down to 18.50 inches for a slug gun. Locks up tight, stocks are real nice walnut, metal finish is about 70%

Price? $65! It will be a great deer slug gun, home defense gun or all around camp gun. I could not turn it down for that price.

That's a wicked cool lightweight Ruger (well, not actually a Ruger ). Anyway, a very cool pistol!

Here's where I used those screws -- and some cold blue -- I bought on Friday (front sight):
Image

Close-up on the sight.
Image
I blued the newly-finished muzzle, as well as the barrel band and screws. The spacers were blackened by heating red hot with a propane torch and dropping in a small container of new motor oil. I purposely left the sight blade high to allow filing down. It's plastic from a tent peg. I'll probably be replacing the two screws with something a little larger, along with tapping the left side of the sight band, to get rid of the nuts. This was kind of a proof-of-concept project. It was also fun. I haven't had much range time with my new shorty .357, but I hope to rectify that problem very soon!

So far, I just fired a few of my standard-velocity (NOT powder-puff) wadcutter loads. I was pleased that the report -- while louder than a .22LR in a similar-sized carbine -- was much, much quieter than a .38 or 9mm from a pistol or a high-powered rifle. Taking a shot with a wadcutter -- in the open without hearing protection -- was not painful to the ears. I wouldn't advise it, but I was looking for something that might be fired quickly in an emergency. If there's a rabid animal in the yard, or a predator going after one of the animals, I probably won't have time to look for ear plugs. A light-to-medium round in a pistol-caliber carbine does have a useful application, even in a very compact gun.

All my best,
Dirty Bob

Bought a Glock 19, 3rd Generation brand new with 3 mags for $405 before tax. Active duty discount ftw. They go for no less than $550 in this area (usually over $600), and I think they only come with 2 mags.

I picked up new 3rd Gen Glock 19 Saturday for $484. Sadly mine only came with 2 mags... :P No police discount... :(

This being my first Glock, I had to immediately go shoot it.

Needless to say, it's my favorite handgun so far. I love the size, the weight, and the feel. I shot it pretty decently too.

Instant Glock fan. :)

I've tried to like other polymer semi-autos. I really have. But I've always come back to Glocks.

I will say the Sig 2022 is a nice gun, but I'd still rather a Glock. Really wanted to like the M&P, but then I shot it and realized the trigger absolutely sucks. XD just felt like a Glock wannabe with extra added crap. Nothing beats the simplicity and reliability of a Glock IMO.

Only other semi autos I have a desire to buy (other than C&R stuff) is a 1911 and a Sig P226 (amazing gun). For my polymer pistol needs I will always stick with Glocks.

My name says it all.

Lik?

Or is it the one for $4.05 and three bucks shipping? I've heard people praising these, but I don't have any for any of my bags yet...

Thanks!

Glock 26 taken on some cash owed to me.

Old Hunter Company gun belt and holster from a resale shop $20, fits a like a 50 inch waist. Took it to the local shoe repair guy in town who cut the belt down to my size, punched new holes, Cleaned and polished it for $6. Fit's perfect and look good,... a just a danged miracle that is fits my Big Ass Ruger SBH like a glove.

Nope. The sport packs are normally closer to $15 each.

Looks like the sports packs are $14.60... I've several "normal" quikclots anyway, it was mainly the dressings I was looking for.

What's the difference between the sport packs and the non-sport-packs?

Well darn... looks like we just missed it. They were $10 earlier today. I'm not exactly sure what the distance is.
