Do it. Gun broker says they are worth 1600 at most and higher end rifles are going for that much. BTW, I love my Armalite rifle. I wouldn't trade it for anything. I paid 1150 NIB back in august last year. I would just because its a rifle, not a shot gun.
Thanks Anianna!

Isn't it hard to find spare parts for the Spas-12?

If so, that alone would make me want to do the trade. Go for it.

Isn't a SPAS impossible to get? I thought they had a little more value than an m15 that you can get at the store, or is it a real m15?

I was under the impression that Spas shotguns were rather valuable and in high demand, in part due to their extensive usage in pop culture.

Hard to get, but not that desirable except to the right person.

I'm going to be the odd man out and say no. Find that right person, sell it for $1,500 or so, and then buy an AR for $1k. You're up $500.

That said, finding that right person is NOT always easy.

its weird, but Spas-12s are not selling for nearly as much as one might think. gunbroker usually has quite a few of them up for sale. The folding stock versions usually goes for about $1200 while the solid stock goes for around $1000. Mine is the latter. One of the problems with the spas is all the negative press it gets, which is completely unfounded in my experiences.

I think you're better off. You can always just go buy an Armalite.

I guess, but I probably won't be able to get what he was offering for $1000

passing up a deal is one thing, just missing a deal because you decided to sleep in is another :?
I told myself last night, I should just accept the deal without waiting for pics.

My friend...listen to the tearful voice of experiance...DO NOT GET RID OF YOUR SPAS. I traded mine for a CMMD AR and a used glock. Yeah, it seemed like a good deal, but I wish 1000 times that I didn't do it. Hell, I can throw a rock and hit an AR and a Glock, but the SPAS is a rarity. Don't do it, man...Don't do it.

EDIT: I just read the entire thread (you should do that before posting). You dodged a bullet on that one. Keep that SPAS homey!!

ARs are a dime a dozen. Don't do it. Yes, the AR is more practical, no one is arguing that... but it seems like you have a shotgun that makes you happy.

The SPAS is a toy .

Ditch it .

Get an AR or or if you need a fighting shotgun , get a real one like a 870 or 590 , or hell , go all out and do a Saiga conversion .

I disagree.

I would say any AR is a toy. Like LEGO, you can built it the way you like, unlike the SPAS where there is little room for customization, let alone any.

That shotgun is a novelty gun for sure, but keep it unless you're short on cash.

It's big, heavy, bulky, doesn't excell in anything, but in a few years I'm sure you'll be glad you kept it.

Trade a SPAS? No way! A SPAS is way more cool at the range and I'm sure a man such as yourself has plenty of weapons in the battery for real world purposes.

WTF MK? Those guns are tanks? I fired 2000+ rounds through mine and it NEVER failed. You could throw it off a bridge and pick it up and fire it and fire it like a MOFO too. You could chop a fuckin AR in half with a SPAS-12. Why the hating man??

Yeah, keep the SPAS12 and be happy about it.
It's an excellent home protection gun and with the folding stock it's handy in close quarters. Try getting one for your 12.

I have a SPAS15 and I love it. It is pleasant to shoot and works every time. I would'nt trade it for anything, except maybe a minigun. 8)

SPAS's look cool, but are kinda obsolete now that Saigas are so hot.

That's what you think Kermit. There is much more to SPAS 15 than what the Franchi homepage tells you. hehe
And the Saiga's have their own drawbacks. 8)

And naegling62: I still haven't tried the Browning M2 yet. Even though I'm a sergeant in the army. So we don't get to have ALL the fun. :(
