Good and bad places to buy guns online

Post by Fire » Mon May 11, 2009 6:40 pm

after getting some prompt and helpful advice on Flodridagunworks.com I have decided to change and upgrade this thread to one about the best, and worst places to buy guns online..... I will start with one of mine, I have had more than half a dozen good transactions with Yankee artifacts out of Mass. - the one time that I had a problem with the weapon I received they promptly solved it... so they are a good one.....luckily I have no personal xp with a bad one, yet...... everyone feel free to add your best and worst....

Stay the hell away from them. They are low down, double dealing, back stabbing, larcenous, peverted, worms.

Notice the absence of hard contact info.

I ordered some AK receivers in like 2004-5 from them. They charged my card, never delivered. The only way I got my money back was going to my CC and asking them to forgive the charge. No responses to email, no repsonses to phone calls. These folks are scum.

Or, you could take your chance that they may have changed their business practices since then.

Feel free to include my endorsement should you place an order.

thanks- they seemed to have a good price on a bulgarian makarov, and as I am in my "have some spare cash " season, I thought about it- also looked at their price on a cobray m11, as a buddy has one that I have shot, and I loved (strangely accurate with that weapon, and liked the feel of it, despite all the bad press it gets....) might change this thread to one about good and bad places to buy guns online.....

On a positive note. I've purchased 3 pistols from these guys http://www.OnlineGunDeals.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;, and had execellent results. Great communitcation, good pricing, and a joy to do business with. Jaime is very cool, and helpful.

I used to buy quite a bit from Classic Arms. Never once had a problem with them. One company I won't deal with anymore is Atlantic firearms. When I bought a rifle from them it appeared they are either understaffed beyond belief or have no clue how to deal with customers to get return business. Ended up having to send my FFL in three times and never once did they return a phone call. Frankly I was amazed the rifle showed up at all.

http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/index.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; - I like their selection and prices, and just bought a rifle from them, and everything went well in the transaction...

Yeah, I've never dealt with Bud's Guns online because I live close enough to just stop in, but I've had nothing but positive experiences with them. They are A-Okay in my book.

The same goes for Centerfire Systems. Never ordered from them online because I can just go walk in, but I've never been disappointed with them.

I’ve bought a number of firearms successfully online recently. I’ve had very good experiences with all of the vendors I’ve dealt with so far. The only thing I had to worry about was arranging with a FFL to handle the transfers

http://www.midwesthuntersoutlet.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I got my Saiga from them with no problems. Then they shipped me the wrong milled-reciever AK from Arsenal, I sent it back, they blew me off for 3 (now 8) weeks, aren't telling me the whole story, and have stopped responding to my e-mails.

I'm filing with the BBB next week. They've usually been good, but with this fucked-up shipment they've dropped the ball, and are hiding shit from me. I'm utterly pissed.

Here's my thread about the ordeal that I haven't updated because I don't know what else to say:

CDNN is awesome. I've also had good luck with PK Firearms and Mooney's.

I don't have any links here, since I'm on my work PC (and we have a firewall to keep us from looking at weapon-related sites. Sigh), but I've had good dealings with several internet sellers:

Summit Gun in Missouri (they have a http://www.gunbroker.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; account)
AIM
SOG
JG Sales (they replaced a damaged magazine with no questions asked)
C-Products
Sportsman's Guide (just don't order clothing from them, especially their "GUIDE GEAR" brand - their sizing is iffy for surplus and "GG", and "GG"'s quality is suspect)

I also have it on good authority that Centerfire Systems is good, but I've never ordered from them.

Also, two local sellers that sell on the Internet: Cole Distributing in Scottsville, Kentucky (about 20 minutes from here) and Sherwood's Guns here in BG. Both also have Gunbroker accounts.

I'll try to remember to log on and paste in some links when I get home, but no guarantees.

I actually had a good experience with Atlantic Firearms, but it was before this whole crazy gun time hit, and I think they are a smallish shop, so I wouldn't be surprised to find that they have changed since then, but either way my AR15 came from them and it was a positive experience. Also multiple good experiences with aimsurplus.

I second the motion on Centerfire systems. They are my "go to" guys. I have order overa dozen times from them and it is always right on time and exactly what I was expecting. A+ all the way. Ask for Magnus.
