what do you all think of this Mossberg 500?
Seller wants $350. I asked how well used it is, and his reply was that it's been used.... he said you can see the paints been rubbed off the tube. I guess it would take quite a few shell ejections to rub the paint off. Do we think $350 is too much?

Yes. Yes I do

Yes, Tell him to knock $150 off the price. You can get them for $250 NEW at most gunshops.

Re: what do you all think of this Mossberg 500?
Considering they aren't painted and most are blued I wouldn't say that price isn't really all the great. As someone else said if it has all the original furniture with it maybe..... leaning towards no. If it had a second barrel and a full stock that would be a good price. They are about $300 NIB in my area.
Re: what do you all think of this Mossberg 500?
Thanks for the input. I've been leaning toward the Remington 870 anyway. I'd like to have more customization options like a tube extension, which I know can't be done on the 500 (though it can on the 590 correct?). Anyway, I think I'll keep looking.

Re: what do you all think of this Mossberg 500?
350 way too much.
the furniture looks knock off, not Mossy factory
brand new, with both traditional stock, and PG is like 300.
that guns not worth it

I agree with the others. I got my 500 for $150 and those tac-star accessories, while nice, are worth maybe another $75 if you had to buy them retail. Tell him to hit the road. $350 is not worth it for a 500 with now extremly limited utility.

Re: what do you all think of this Mossberg 500?
yep, overpriced. you could picked up a brand new mav88 18.5 -20 inch barrel for $150-220, and it's the same 12 gauge.

I'm sure that when World War Z becomes a movie that will be the most awe-inspiring film event of this century. More than movies, though, I love reading. And I read anything with Zombies I can get my hands on. Brian Keene is awesome. Max Brooks is my hero. Day By Day Armageddon was an excellent read as well. Zombies are an excellent source of inspiration. They helped my wife get over her irrational fear of guns! Yay for that!
Re: what do you all think of this Mossberg 500?
I paid $150 for the same gun a year ago, without that $20 forend. Pretty much the same condition as yours.

i have the knock off Maverick 88, and i love it. it was my first gun buy, but still. has yet to give me any problems ::knock on wood::
paid 275 for it new, with a cleaning kit and short barrell along with the skeet barrell. works well, and is easy to clean/maintain

Mossberg 500 - new they cost about what he's asking, Maverick 88, basicly the same thing, about $250 after tax new. Tell him to *insert inappropriate comment* and buy a new one.

Re: what do you all think of this Mossberg 500?
Get a 590 military model. Tougher gun.
and you don't need an extender on a 590, the tube is as long as the barrel.

Some 500s also have 20" barrels and 8-shot tubes.WES wrote: and you don't need an extender on a 590, the tube is as long as the barrel.
I wouldn't pay $350 for a 500. If you shop around, you can find used Mossbergs, Mavericks, or Revelation 310s for around $100.

I, too, paid $150 for mine. It was 100% stock but looked like new.

Re: what do you all think of this Mossberg 500?
Mossys here go for $220 brand spanking new with both the shoulder stock, and pistol grips included. I'd pass on a USED one for 350 by a LONG ways, thats a rip.
Mossy makes an excellent shotty, they just are not worth 350 used and in the condition you described by any stretch of the imagination.

Re: what do you all think of this Mossberg 500?
i can't see the image..
but $350 does sound really high, for a Mossy 500... you can get them on sale around here, new for about $250... i have also seen some really nice Rem. 870's for around $300-$350..
i pick up my Mossy 500a on wed....
this gun is pretty much brand new.. it's a year old and has never even been shot... i ended up trading 2 custom knives for it...
so far all it's cost me was the $35 transfer fee....

i pick up my Mossy 500a on wed....
