Utah also does a non-resident permit. Have that one, too.

Is this an option? $39 for the online class, $100 for a 5 year Virginia non-resident permit:

I'm not sure if that's an option for Texas, but I'll look into it.

We even have open carry in Colorado. And now I have it in Virginia, too. ;)

Dunno if I'll ever do it, but it's nice to have the option.

If we do get open carry in Texas, I probably won't do it either, but it'll be nice to have the option like you said.

Amazing to me TX can't open carry. Oregon lets you OC, CC in bars while drinking, whatever. Seems like the only rule out here is don't shoot anyone unless you have to. Hell you can even have a medical marijuana card and a CHL here. Weird, right?

I was surprised at the restrictions in Virginia compared to Colorado, actually. In Colorado you can carry in establishments that serve alcohol, so long as you're not drinking. Can't carry in those places in Virginia.

I believe the same goes for carrying in Texas.

I know we aren't allowed to take our CCW into stores with the 30.06 signage or into Federal buildings, but I'm not too sure about bars or restaurants serving alcohol.

I'm sure that's all covered in the permit class.

I'm leaning more towards a Bazooka Brothers lower cut for M3 Grease Gun mags, and a direct impingement RMW upper.

I saw a 45 AR make the rounds on some of the social media I waste my time on a week or so ago. I don't think I'd really seen or even thought of one before. I bet they are fun as hell.

I was thinking of doing an ar pistol in .45acp, but it seemed like more machining is involved with the bolt and Making it DI vs. Blowback however you want to go. a 9mm ar is more straight foward like building a regular ar. I still got to machine the bolt for glock magazines and ramp it for a standard hammer, but i can do that at work fairly easy and quick on a cnc vertical mill in manual mode.

Lone Wolf Distributing used to or still does make an AR lower that takes Glock magazines, especially the 33 round 9mm magazines.

Looking around on YouTube, it looks like there is an outfit which makes an AR upper which takes grease gun mags from the left side and ejects the brass out the bottom through the lower's mag well/chute.

They try to make it look Thompson-ish.

I had to do a google search...I thought the grease gun mags were just 20 rounds of .45, but it looks like they are actually 30 rounders.

Well,.. I'm testing Burris Optics' Forever Warranty. Just sent 2 pistol scopes for repair. One of them is 30 years old. Curious to see what will happen. Anyone ever send anything back to Burris before?

That's the plan. Training of some type at just. Been looking for something for the past few weeks, but the prices and locations are problematic.

But, agreed.

I've been mulling over a 45acp AR for years, but there aren't any options I'm happy with. A USC45/UMP45 conversion would be ideal if I could afford it right now.

Botach's running a deal on the CX4 carbines with 5 mags that's been hard to pass up. If I sell another of my higher-dollar fun-gats I might get one.

PCC ARs don't really do it for me the way the BSG-gat or the new Scorpion does.
