Stuff you found or rediscovered!

Post by bumblingbear » Sat Nov 16, 2013 6:36 pm

Hey all,

Have you ever been digging around and made gun related discoveries?

A few days ago, I was organizing my ammo and going through some of my storage milk crates when I found this:

Image

4,000 rounds of .22 that I hadn't known I had!

So have any of you made similar discoveries? One of my friends once found a scope in his underwear drawer that he thought he lost years before.

Years back when moving (was going through a divorce) I found some SKS's I'd forgotten that I even owned under the guest bed.

Not me, but my dad was looking for a pair of shoes in the closet, found a 22 bolt action rifle and 308 mauser he completely forgot about.

I think what probably happened is he washed his clothes every week so the bottom layer never really moved. :P

I was raised in a house built in 1750. My father tore a wall down in 1964 and found 2 flintlock rifles.
He sold them for $200. I often wish I had them today

I don't think I'd tell anyone if I lost a gun, although I wouldn't mind finding a few.

WTF is this trend with lost SKSs?

...lol

I hope I magically find one in my house... especially since they are more expensive now.

You know, I'm going to have to come over to your guys' houses some time... Apparently, you won't miss anything that walks out, especially since you forgot you had it in the first place...

Your spouses, you know, the person who you share the bed with? They must just LOVE this attention to detail...

Back when you could get Chicomm SKS's for sub $100 it was pretty easy to buy a few (and then forget about them).

A few break-action shotguns, my Hakim, a can of 9mm, can of 5.56, can of .22, a case of .22, numerous knives...a plate carrier with plates...stripped lower...I only forget I have it because I end up stowing them somewhere and then go clean stuff out and go "oh that's right..."

A few days ago I found 3 15 rd magazines for my CZ75 B in a Glock pistol box. I had been wondering what happened to them, I guess I must have put them in there when I moved a few years ago.

Found an 870 in the closet I never bought.

Asked all my friends if anyone was missing one and no one claimed it. I even called up people I had not heard from in 10 years. Not a single person claimed it.

My best guess is I took it in as collateral on a loan from someone and they never came back for it.

Oh well mine now.

I'd take another 870 any day... and I have 3!

One of the best, most reliable weapons ever designed imo.

I generally think its probably bad practice to discover guns and ammo I forgot about out side the safe....

Having said that I found a cap and ball pistol I had forgotten about in a bucket of dunkit. It was in there for at least 2 months.

I found quite a few things after my last move. The flip side is I have a few parts and pieces I haven't found.
