Steel Cased Caliber ID

Post by Shadoq » Sat Mar 30, 2013 1:09 am

Hey guys,
Need some help with this one.
I bought a mixed lot of steel cased 7.62X39 the other day.
Well some of the rounds are significantly taller than the others. They also won't fit/feed in a standard AK mag.
They're not 7.62X39 and they're not 5.56X45, not 7.62X51, not 30-06.
They're marked on the bottom with an AZ, and a 19 or 61, can't really tell.
I've attached a pic. It is the round in the middle. Left of it is 7.62X39, right of it is 5.56X45.

What the heck is this thing? ... fd23b4.jpg" onclick=";return false;
Thanks guys

I second this.

Czech X45. Original round for the VZ52 rifle. The Czech generally had better ideas than a lot of their Bloc companions
No one has a sense for the dramatic.

Does anyone actually shoot/use this stuff?
I have no use for it seeing as I have no guns chambered in this caliber...

How much of it do you have? If you've got a significant amount, I recommend putting it for auction. People are scrambling just to find a couple of boxs of .22LR, can't even imagine coming across Czech 7.62x45
Because no honest man should be limited to ten rounds. Sorry Bill. I like your revolvers but I hope you rot in hell.-yossarian

I'm pretty sure if you look closer you'll see that it has 'ZV 61' on the headstamp.

It's that smug, superior attitude of theirs, strutting around in their fancy outfits like they're better than everyone else. Yeah, burn in hell, you snobbish bird bastards.

And don't get me started on pandas!

yup 7.62x45

no demand for it locally, I see a few guns for sale online....$500 for the gun and 600 rounds of ammo... on a C+R forum.
