Hi Hi, I've been a lurker for a while now but decided to register today. I figured I'd participate in chatting about Preparedness, Zombies, and Guns some of my favorite things. :D

Welcome! There are plenty of us Kentuckians around!

We even had a little gathering a couple of weeks ago at KYZHunters' farm. It was cool. 8)

We're talking about forming a KY Chapter. We just need to sort some stuff out/get off our asses.

So, anyway, welcome again!

I'm always down for some knob creek. I'm busy with job things at the moment but in the future we should organize a group shooting maybe?

Wow, it is good to see so many Kentuckians on the boards. My home town is Paducah and I have had some of my old friends from there asking about what it would take to get a chapter started. I referred them to the appropriate materials on the website so the ball is in their court. Have any of you organized any get together events such as camping, shooting range fun, or just a meeting? I do travel back to the land of bourbon from time to time and it would be great to know that we had a chapter back in my home state.

Also, since there seems to be a good amount of distance between some of the KY members, are any of you licensed for shortwave radio operations? That would be a great exercise and one we do here in St. Louis, of running emergency nets.

Short wave.... I'm lucky to manage a cell phone. If anyone wants to meet at Knob Creek just email me . I'm out there 2 times a week, rain or shine. Have a new 45-70 Sharps coming in that should be fun.

Later

I will keep an eye out for SWers in the area and will try to do some recruiting.

Hello from Louisville!

I was at Knob Creek on Wednesday. I like it better this time of year. Much less crowded. :)

I'm a KY noob too.

Pretty close to Richmond.

I've got my ham license if anyone wants to hit up some local repeaters sometime. I've only got my Tech license, so I'm limited to where I can talk. I'd like to start working some 10m SSB if I can ever find a radio that suits me.
