That would cause serious problems, since, like the article said, stressed/angered students would more than likely pull their firearm and kill someone. I don't think I ever went to college without my tactical folder and I never ran around stabbing people, no matter how stressed I was about my classe...

Damn I had a long reply that I thought I posted to this thread and it seems to have disappeared. Oh well here is the short list: Hardened street kids will see through a bluff like a window. If you use a knife for self defense the bad guy shouldn't see it until it has his blood on it, preferably not ...

I know a guy that used to carry one in Korea. He said it was the cat's ass for night patrols.

Re: The M3. You can get a lot better night vision optics now for less money then you will pay for something that is a genuine collectible. Mount them on the rifle of your choice.

What if you were to think about buying an old scrap Soviet ship from poor eastern european countries????
I have seen Eastern European and Communist era maintenance first hand. Trust me, buy the ship built in a democracy.

Yesterday I went with a friend to Macedonia. It is nice to get out of the warzone everyonce and a while and relax a bit. Macedonia is still a third world country with all the rules that apply to handling yourself in such a place. One thing you have to watch out for is wolfpacks composed of younger k...

Headshots are difficult enough on the range, ;let alone when some zombie is trying to eat you. I don't know how good I would do let alone someone who has never even held a handgun before. I think I would remind my companion that for millenia people killed each other with rocks and leave it at that. ...

I like mine. Very comfortable to carry all day, very corrosion resistant, accurate as hell.

Only down side is the plastic followers on the magazines get gouges in them that can lead to jams if you shoot them a lot. I am trying to find some replacement metal floor plates.

If the zombies are already in old navy then the cute cashier is on her own. I would draw my CCW and hold it in a close retention position as tightly as possible so I wouldn't get it knocked out of my hands by a paniced shopper. I would try to fight my way through tcrowd to the side of the mall my ve...

What is up with the super Hot Eurotrash girls!? Yumm!!! Anyway it would be a cut in pay but it would be fun. LOL stay saf...

They could always say how much a square yard or inch of the fabric weighs in comparison to a square yard or inch of kevlar of similar thickness.

I notice they don't say how much the stuff weighs.

Still it is fun to dream. I want hard armor that looks kind of like a stormtrooper outfit without the goofy helmet and in some color other then white, that will any round up to and including .50bmg. It ain't happening anytime soon though.

Stop worrying about being trendy and start finishing your Bug Out Bag. Any gear seen as "survivalist" might jump up in price at your favorite stores. Way ahead of you. And my favorite store right now is a PX. Best way I can think of to get military gear at a cheap price with having it issued to you.

I like it. Maybe use your Neighborhood Watch buddies or something. But can you trust any of your neighbors with a gun, Aiki? Doesn't matter if I can trust them or not with a gun, they already have them. I don't have to arm my neighbors back home, they already have weapons and know how to use them. ...

The idea of picking up a rifle off the ground or taking it off a dead enemy and being able to use it is a bit rediculous. A rifle has to be zeroed to the individual using it or your accuracy goes out the window. Why do you think that military rifles, which are supposed to be so simple a chimp could ...

I like what a couple of neighborhoods in New Orleans did. Everyone banded together and barricaded off their neighborhood. Then they set up shifts and started armed patrols. Seems safer to go about it that way. The civil unrest may last longer then I can stay awake in one go. It would be nice to have...

Really it depends on two things. The weather and what stage of the outbreak we are in. If it is the early stages and civil authorites still have a measure of control I would probably wear my normal hard wearing street clothes and a 5.11 vest or similar to carry a minimum amount of extra gear. Keep a...
