Would it be possible to replace the ac compressor motor with a dc big enough to do the job? Maybe that would be a cheap way to go?
I can't see much more than that needing ac power on a freezer.

Re: Diabetics in the PAW
You had better watch out. It looks like these guys might just harvest your pancreas while you slept. Don't worry you'll just sleep through it. You won't feel a thing. If I was that worried about it I would find out how to make that drug and work towards that end. Diabetics are about the safest when ...

Re: Creidiki’s AK rant
I hope my first few posts didn't sound as bad as this guys. As for AK's. Yeh they are fugly but even I own one. I couldn't pass up the price and they have other options that make them attractive. Accuracy? Don't need it beyond 100 yrds. Unless its in a pinch. To me they just sound funky when you fir...

I think you can clarify out that yeast by adding simple gelatin.
It sticks to it and sinks.
I'll experiment.

Sorry about that it was a bit late for me.

I'm only looking in Texas because I like it there and personal history.
Your personal choice of locals will greatly change the prices.

Re: Farm Animals that don't need much land or feed
I did a quick search for good bug out sites. Try this place if your on a budget. After you punch in your criteria they list them most expensive to cheapest. Just go straight to the last page and work forward. 10 acres of hunting land for under 10 grand with water. Places like this exist just look. S...

Re: Buying silver
Depending on dates they are WAY worse than anything American, Sometimes as low as 50% before they cut out silver altogether. And each denomination had differing amounts in different years. But the pre WWII stuff was pretty good. Thats why Grandma started collecting. And also why she stopped. She cou...

Re: Solar Panels and EMP?
Your correct it was future weapons and the car did survive just fine. As for microchips. There is not enough uninsulated and thus protected material in them to collect any dangerous amount of electrical charge. Otherwise that Fords computer would have fried along with the radio in it. Just how much ...

Since something like that is equal in capability to a full sized laptop I would think they would be useful for more than just storing info. My second reason would be recovering info from other computers. Pull out a hard drive and jack it in with an external USB adapter. Viola! Instant recovery of ev...

Is it possible the "crystals" (if I have the term correct) have been taken out? Gosh thats and old term.
I would hazard to guess that if you need a license to use them you might have to provide ID to get all the parts to make them work.
Unless they fell off a truck.

Re: Arming a Group
I only mentioned them because of their low cost. And also for the fact that in any Zombie or PAW situation a pistol is only around as an emergency backup. At least in the group situation the OP was talking about. I personally own a full size EAA Witness in .45/9mm/.22 nothing like good solid steal t...

Re: Farm Animals that don't need much land or feed
My personal picks for animals on 10 acres. 1 acre pond for fish and such. Bats and bees just because. And I will eat the bats if I have to. Geese. For everything from feathers and meat to eggs and a bonus guard animal. Goats. Need the milk. But the meats a bonus. A sheep or two if they get along wit...

Re: Solar Panels and EMP?
The US army says that to protect from EMP power spikes you should never leave wire coiled up laying around on the ground. Like an electro magnet the coils collect and then amplify the power sending it down the line to the equipment. Keep power lines buried and as short as possible. Keep everything w...

Re: Buying silver
I have a load of old Mexican silver pesos. Any idea of how to extract the silver? They are from .900 to .750 silver depending on the year. They are obviously not worth much on the collectors market. They are not rare in any way. Thanks to the depression and grandma mistrust of banks I have quite a f...

Re: Arming a Group
But at those prices for 9mm pistols you almost can't go wrong if you want new. Yes, yes you can. I suggest you go a little light research before coming to a conclusion based solely on price. There are other, better options that do not cost an arm and a leg. The S&W Sigma is an example of this. The ...
