Great one more reason for me to buy software instead of ammo.

I really do need something to make vector graphics though.

Re: Diabetic Alternatives

Their is always canned tuna, salmon, chicken, corned beef, and chili. That being said, I would still put enough insulin, syringes and testing supplies away as you can. Yes, and I have started buying 4 packs of canned tuna, but not in as much bulk as I do soups and veggies. I like the soups and vegg...

Re: Logging/Woodworking Discussion.

I have heard tell that for an old style log cabin you shouldn't dry the wood without the bark. This leads to splitting of the logs due to them drying to fast in some places. Leave the bark on and let the water leave the open ends at its natural rate. This takes longer but leaves the wood in better s...

You have no heed for such an obviously offensive weapon.

So repent and give it to me. :)

Re: Shotguns and You! (Or, pick Gunny's brain)

Thanks. I got the thing and it works great. I oiled the heck out of it because the thing was WAY to tight to turn. I thought it was cross threaded until I took it apart and checked. I oiled it up and worked it loose. Now it turns with just one hand and a bit of effort. As for the threads into the ba...

Re: How can one tell if their 870 receiver is a magnum or not?

Mystery is solved I nice marking it says "Remington 870 Express Magnum". Now I need to try out some of those 3" shells I got. Thanks for the responses guys. Check the barrel also. It should have that 'M' stamped into the side for magnum. If not make sure your not using magnum loads. The barrel will...

I don't trust the group of them. Yes there are some politicians that support gun rights to the full and necessary extent needed but the almost veto proof majority will slowly give away our rights, And with the candidates we have on the block now I don't trust them to even try a veto. Get every gun y...

Re: Personal Water Tower

In warmer areas you could paint them black and they would pre heat your water.

Have two. one tank insulated to keep it cool(well at least cooler) and one painted to help the water get hot.

Re: whats the cheapest gun?

We are going to need a tighter definition of 'cheap' here. And a little more specifics on the type of gun. I have one of those cheap Jennings J22's. Got mine new for 60 bucks. With a little work it actually feeds and functions perfect. No stove pipes either with normal .22 ammo. It surprised me. But...

Try a lighter buffer spring as suggested earlier.

They are the cheapest rout and are probably less than the cost of shipping the gun around the country getting someone else to work on it.

I'm sorry but if I'm somehow (beyond my thinking) stuck in a city for any length of time. I would be one of those raiders. Re: Rock2Fox's Solar Power System

How do just the panels your running weigh? If they are under 500lbs you could put them on the top of a motor home/van/tank or any other large vehicle. Though at that point I would probably go with 4 batteries and have some type of automatic switching setup between them. Two charging while two are in...

For ten grand I could hire 20 poor Colombians to take the bullets for me.

And they would do my cooking and cleaning also.

Re: AR jamming issues

That sound more like the bolts not cycling back all the way. I agree. Semi-auto carriers have metal removed from them which results in less inertia as it gets blown back. Combine that with a buffer that's too light or a spring that's too strong and you can have this problem. This is why I asked abo...

Basically looks like a waste of time.

Just buy something on the market already and use their new AP ammo. Which just looks like pointed high carbon steal cores inside sabots.

Basically firing drill bits down range.

Heres a quick question for the Gunny.

What about a screw in compensated Polychoke for my Rem 870, 27 inch barrel, 3 inch mag?

Any good or just flashy?

Re: AR jamming issues

That sound more like the bolts not cycling back all the way. Those with more know how than me should be able to tell you how to fix this. But my first attempt would be to try the most powerful load I could find as a test. A lighter spring for a permanent fix. But thats just a guess from an on line i...
