Wouldn't a small battery bank help in moderating any surge or draw problems?
I can't see it needing to be large enough to run a fridge for 8 hours but an hour would be great.
Granted wiring would be a bit more complex but once set up shouldn't be a problem.

Re: Many Nursing Homes Aren't Prepared For Basic Emergencies
The main problem with having a backup power supply in a flood is that someone will use it. And electrocute someone in the water. But having a bug out plan is something that should be in every nursing homes books. Plus it should be coordinated with a local hospital and the local city to use their bus...

Re: Robot Uprising - Or, what to do when AI Does All The Job
AI systems are not even up to mouse smart yet. We do not have a single fully computer controlled and operated manufacturing facility. In fact we are presently working on ways to keep terrorists and hackers from taking control of anything hooked to the net. Without full control of supplies of raw mat...

Re: Robot Uprising - Or, what to do when AI Does All The Job
There will be no robot uprising. Before computers even get the power of independent thought coupled with the ability to effect their environment their plugs will be pulled. Do you really think the planet of the apes would be allowed to happen also? Mankind will NEVER accept an intellectual competitor.

Turn the huge walk in closet into a smaller standard closet with a hidden door into the new safe room.
If you have a basement you could put a trapdoor to the basement inside the safe room.

These sights should fit your gun.
I wanted adjustable sights on mine and these were the only option short of milling the gun.

I would still like to see Lucifers hammer or The Moon Is a Harsh Mistress.
The Moon Is a Harsh Mistress would scare the hell out of some people and they would never want anyone on the moon again. There goes any idea of a Moon colony.

Expecting to find any ammo during a Z-Apocalypse is not a smart plan. First off what do you expect? Do you think ammo will be laying around out on kitchen tables? Like in video games. No its going to be with the people who already have the gun to use it. Only an idiot buys ammo he cannot shoot. If ...

Re: What do you make and sell?
Just started learning how to test and repair tube radios. My present project is a 1957 WEGA model 401 multi-band radio. Tubes are good but the capacitors need changing. I think it has a shortwave transmitter option so I am looking for one to install. I have two late 40's AM car radios that I am thin...
