Get yourself a 1 or 2 shot 12 gauge, then get yourself some Dragon's Breath shells. And best part, no gas tank on your back to get shot and turn you into crispy zombie chow.

Hacksaw, but that will take a LOT of time to destroy the stairs. THere are some powered metal circular saws, but that will take a power source and extension cord, and it'll be quite noisy.

Destroying the stairs

I feel a bit silly asking this: In Max Brooks' "Zombie Survival Guide", he recomends destroying the stairs to secure a multi-level home. Obviously, fire is a bad idea. So you have an axe, and you're starting to destroy the stairs: do you chop at the sides of the steps to destroy them, or do you hack...
also i can see what da law means, the movie was realistic enough that it wigged out some frends of mine who are really into horror films.
Agreed. The part in "28 Days" where they have to change the tire in the tunnel while the infected are right on them which freaks me...

I love dogs, but I've also been told dog makes a mighty fine meal. The Chinese have bred dogs for food since before Columbus. Of course, I'd be a bit picky about what dog I'd eat come the (Z)PAW. I won't drop hints about what tasty meals your dog can become if you pass by me. I won't pick dogs which...

I'm planning on going to Japan myself. Any tips? And how does one say "beware of zombies" in Japanese?

I'm sure some of my favorite still-living authors would die, and thus their current series would go unfinished. I would miss the endings.

I could just see some of you, never having done the bug-out bag & weapon or full load when the zombies hit, you're skipping along and the rattle from all your gear draws the zombies......away from me. Good idea, chaps!

Test your gear beforehand to make sure you're as quiet as possible.

You're on vacation when the zombies hit....

What do you do? Contact your own embassy and try to get back to the States, flee with everyone else, or see if you can join the local military to fight the Zeds?

Like the Japanese ritualistic committing of suicide, but with my own cultural twists. Write final letters and last will & testament, down one last pint of Guinness, say something witty for future posterity, then blow my brains out with a .45ACP.

My ideal fortress would be an aircraft carrier, but the chances of me getting my hands on one of those is next to not gonna happen.

A cheap & dirty fortress plan for self includes making a wall of empty cargo containers, with self, home, and supplies within.

After 9-11 and traveling to/from the US, forgetaboutit.

Though thanks for reminding me; if I can get a decent one of the short swords, I'd love to have one of those.

I'll be there less than two weeks, and I'd rather bring something myself than hit a hardware store. I've considered buying a walking stick or cane, but camping stores these days are focusing on light-weight sticks for the ultra-light campers, not heavy metal ones for zombie hunters. Because otherwis...

zombie defense in modern Japan

I may be traveling to Japan soon, and I am wondering what personal zombie defense weapons I can carry with me. Any suggestion that is legal for a traveler to carry is appreciated.
