Re: 590/590A1 questions

I have a 590 and have not had any malfunctions in the few hundred rounds that I have put through her. Never had any issues with stiff racking either though if you have that issue just watch a movie and work the slide through the entire time and you should be good. I like my bead sight but want to fi...

Motion Powered Watches

I have been mulling over getting a new watch and have been intrigued by my wife's motion powered watch. As long as it gets carried around for a little bit every day it will always have power which I think would be an advantage in a prolonged situation where batteries may be difficult to get. Anyone ...

I am of the same school of thought. The idea that my rifle will be sitting here in SA while I am in STL where it came from anyway drives me nutty.

X-Mas coming early! - kinda

I finally sold my lefty Stag and have turned around and used the money to buy a new S&W M&P-15 MOE. Unfortunately it will ship to my FFL while I am gone so it will arrive in town while I am gone. Even worse is the rifle is shipping from St Louis which is where I am headed for Christmas so my lovely ...

To other readers: If you go to Trijicon you will have the opportunity to sign up to receive and informational email in January. There is no product info available. To the OP: Perhaps if Trijicon is not publishing info on their website why would you think people on a random forum would no anything? A...

Re: Bad Emergency Supplies

Wasn't there a thread about eating "expired" food and what the first hand effects were? For the most part as I recall few people got seriously sick though a few had explosive evacuations but the majority were fine. I think that is the deciding factor for me. If I am going to be trapped for a few day...

Locked saddlebags may be your best bet. Gun on one side and ammo on the other.

Re: News article on home invader shot 4 times with birdshot

Luckily this story only talks about birdshot from a shotgun. Obviously coming from my Judge it will be as effective as Taurus says!

I really need to forward this article to several friends who still insist on birdshot because it won't over penetrate.

Re: Marlin Papoose: Ultimate 22LR Survival Rifle?

Well, my general thinking is that if I go into the woods or whatever I would not ONLY be taking the Papoose and its carry bag. I have a larger BOB in which I have plenty other gear and the Papoose bag just goes inside it. That way the Papoose bag is just for my rifle and the things it needs to oper...

Re: Marlin Papoose: Ultimate 22LR Survival Rifle?

I am just curious why you would place another 200 rounds in the stock when you already have (I presume) 60 rounds between the mag in the rifle and the 5 on the stock? Why not place some other supplies like a fire starter, fishing kit, etc?

Not sure if your shed has a window on it but putting something translucent over the window so that no one can scout what is in it while still making sure if someone is in there with a flashlight you can see it.

What happens if he swings a hammer at it or a crowbar? A lot of burglars in my neighborhood carry tools to help them break into houses. One of the things you need to keep in mind about passive defenses of any kind is that they primarily only buy you time. Whether that is time to evacuate, actively ...

If you have to bug out on a bicycle, I'm sorry dude. Id rather stay home! Instead of bugging out ON a bike you could bug out WITH a bike and use it like a pack mule. Just load supplies on it, tie them down well and walk the bike along. Yeah like these dudes . http://i944.photobucket.com/albums/ad28...

Would it be possible, given the current make up of the Supreme Court, to take a good* case involving FA firearms and appeal it all the way to SCOTUS and then in arguments there present evidence that the amendment was not attached to FOPA legally and thus invalidate that portion of the law through th...
