Re: Civil Unrest In Middle Eastern Arab States

A significant factor in the middle-east is a continual grind of crapsackery on the majority. When the grannies are cross, everyone is cross, and then you've got the support for a revolt. I really do not see that in China - just opposition political factions. They're important but not enough. There'...

Saif is failing the giggle test spectacularly. It's kids on drugs! And filthy immigrants! Sponsored by secret millionaires! And whipped up by foreign media! I blame Rap Music [as always] Throw yo rocks in the air! Hit the po-lice like you just don't care! One of the "theme songs" for the unre...

Re: Modern Day Pirates, Somalia and beyond

What Im asking tho is this . Ive been using google earth lately a lot for this winter bug out contest . I could easily pick out a boat and count the number of occupants etc with googles sat photos . If you see a "fishing "boat about 20 feet long or so with 4 or 5 guys on board you might think to yo...

Re: Mexico becoming a failed state?

In Molon Labe's link the whole right side of the vehicle is shot up. Probably some hired guns with a case of mistaken identity. Most of the cartel big boys ride around in high dollar vehicles just like that. I assume it was some sort of roadside ambush. If they get you locked in and you can't drive...

Any reason for the blue team preference?

Re: Top Shot Reloaded

Ashley seemed to do well for the blue team and I think hit 3 of the 8 targets so go AF! I thought the change from the Beretta to the 1911 for the elimination pistol was kind of interesting. Also always happy to see an S&W featured like that. Also really looking forward to seeing them do the shooting...

Re: Black powder and Pistol Ammo

Understanding that the .357 is only a bare fraction longer than the .38 and the main difference is power is not volume but type of powder used I am left curious as to what the difference in volume can be for .38 and .357. Meaning that if .38 is only loaded half full (and I have no idea if that is tr...

Black powder and Pistol Ammo

Two thoughts crossed my mind this morning and so I thought I would throw them out there to garner some additional input. One of the items I have seen discussed is the value of firearms that shoot a cartridge that was originally designed for black powder. This advantage manifesting in a long term sit...

Most stores, of any kind, have that all covering sign, "We reserve the right to refuse service to anybody". This means that as long as they aren't refusing service based on a protected class they can refuse service for any other reason.

Top Shot Reloaded

Season two starts on Tuesday, 8 February. I am really looking forward to this season since two of the shooters are active duty Air Force and I am hoping for some big service pride moments. Anyone else read over the bios and picked an early favorite? As for me Ashley Spurlin and George Reinas are who...

Re: Title 2 question: What constitutes a VFG on a pistol?

Having read all of this I must applaud James for hanging it out there by contacting the ATF. I sincerely hope they don't get too testy about the letter as that could get quite hairy for the manufacturer. It would be a shame if anyone were to be penalized when you were just trying to become forthcomi...

IMO the Beretta Storm is the only one worth having, and then only if you own a companion pistol. If only Vector were still around to sell us 10mm MP5 SBRs. :( Kind of off topic but looking at the Storm does it have the ability to select right or left ejection? There seems to be a port on the left s...

Do you have any links to the twitter accounts you are getting these posts from? I have never used twitter so I am not really sure how to go about looking this stuff up on their site or elsewhere.

Re: Civil Unrest In Middle Eastern Arab States

When the cost of running a freighter or a tanker is $100/minute and you have an uncertain period for closure you may delay hours but you won't delay days. You also need to keep in mind that oil can't just sit idle in a pipeline. It has to move so if the pipeline (which carry's more oil than the tank...

I'm too poor to have that much, yet. But I'm working on it :D OT: Oil prices rose $3.70 today. I agree that this shouldn't cause gas hikes yet, but any excuse will work to do so. Why shouldn't disruption in Egypt cause a rise in gas prices? Civil disorder in Egypt puts the Suez Canal and the Sumed ...

No chance of a cartel directed coup. They don't want to lead a country they want to make money and being infiltrated assists that. A coup against Calderon to try and clean sweep corruption out of government may happen. Not saying Calderon is or isn't corrupt only that as Captain of the ship if it go...

That pamphlet is a fascinating read in the organization of a protest movement. I particularly found the instructions on what to wear to be truly enlightening. I am very happy to see the focus on use of positive symbols and slogans.

Taking a step away from the S12 issue I find the paragraphs determining why USPSA and IPSC are not relevant to the determination of sporting purpose. In short all it says is though practical shooting is as popular as skeet, trap, and hunting it would make this study and many of our other rules irrel...
