if you got few minutes to build, you can nail a food can (empty :P )to a stick, drill a couple of holes on the sides and put your clothes-oil mix in the can. less drop and a more concentrated flame

You should really get both. Reason is, a multitool and a fixed blade knife don't have a lot of overlap in use. Which you get first depends on what you do the most. -how many acces points
