Re: Ballin on a Budget Bag... Gimme ideas

Oh. What's your budget?

I'd also suggest some of the LA Police Gear stuff. I haven't used the backpacks, but I've got some of their other stuff and it has been quality for the cost.

Re: Ballin on a Budget Bag... Gimme ideas

I'm a fan of 5-11 Rush series of backpacks. A little on the pricey side, but very flexible in function and very durable. The 24 might be a good size for your listed applications.

Re: Jeep repair guide?

Right. Same problem I have (2014 Wrangler). The link Stercutus provided is likely the best option, though it's a CD and obviously doesn't meet your non-electronic format preference. You could print the whole thing...but I suppose that isn't really practical, either. The point I was trying to make wa...

Re: Jeep repair guide?

I am not aware of any reasons why either the Chilton or Haynes manuals wouldn't be sufficient for 95% of garage mechanic work. I've used them for multiple vehicles, including entire engine rebuilds, without failure, and many quality shops still rely on them.

Galco Cop Belt works well for me, though over time it will deform with your waist/gut shape.

A belt I've wanted to try for a long time is the Comp-Tac belt that is Kydex reinforced.

Re: N.C. Outer Banks power outage

I continue to wonder how the hell things like that happen.

This really sucks for those businesses and employees. :( I've got friends down there all week who probably just had their family vacation ruined.

This certainly reinforces my desire for a generator when I finally have a place of my own.

My first thought is that it is a permit and not an Act, etc. Simply a legal distinction on the role of the document.

Re: Lower parts kit question

LPK (lower parts kit) should be in the $30-50 range most places. Unless you're getting the extra special smoothed, shaved, titanium, unicorn blood trigger stuff. Match level trigger assemblies can go for the $300 you're mentioning, so perhaps that's what you're looking at? But the standard LPK I got...

Keeping in mind that not all Harleys are those Harleys. Been riding Sportsters since 2006. Rolled from central Colorado to Seattle and back, then from central Colorado to Philly and back. Have put some miles on a bike not really built for touring. I've got friends who have rolled from the South up t...
