Re: 5.56mm Green Tip M855 Could be banned

Vigilance- This move looks more like "Image Management" to me, removing someone who's garnered bad publicity, and claiming that that means the entire agency has changed direction. Meanwhile, the agency itself continues along the same path it's been traveling for decades. edit: Prove me wrong, ATF, p...

Gonna have to step up to one of the 30.06 semi autos. They try to ban that stuff, the American sportsman will wake up, for sure.

Re: 5.56mm Green Tip M855 Could be banned

The gunshop and the sporting goods store that I visited yesterday both had a pretty good selection of 223 on the shelf. Brass cased stuff, so even though the prices hadn't been jacked up, they were more expensive than steel cased bulk.

Okay, aftermarket, somebody rig up an ambi mag release for the JRC carbine that positions the right side release similarly to an AR. Thanks. ;)

Bought an LCR 9 http://www.ruger.com/products/lcr/specSheets/5456.html on Wednesday and it arrived at my FFL on Thursday... waaaaaaaaat!? Crazy fast. Excited to take it for a spin this weekend if I can. Get it. It's a revolver. Go for a spin. Whatever, you aren't clever either. http://www.d...

I'm thinking plastic surgery. Or custom tailored gloves. I've never been able to find gloves that fit properly, either, I usually just deal with it or go without.

. There is also a notion of "this can't happen here", and people like to sit and wait for someone to come help them or tell them where to go. If a nation-wide or global disaster came about I bet most would die in place, or trying to get out of a now untenable situation too late. every time I see wa...

Re: All purpose "Help me build my AR" thread.

Is it true that a lightweight barrel is "just as good" as a govt. profile barrel, since they are the same thickness under the handguards? Also, what do you guys think of a 14.5" midlength lightweight barreled upper with a pinned flash supressor, vs. a 16" midlength govt. profile barreled upper? I a...

They seem to be having a sale on turning money into noise.

edit: the link isn't behaving as planned, but they have SlideFire stocks for considerably less than I've seen elsewhere.

Re: Firearms Chat 3: #pewpewlife

Maybe I just need more practice with it, or something, but the Hogue "Black Gun Wrench" included with the last free float tube/barrel nut I purchased seems like a pia to use. Putting together a somewhat lightweight upper for use with my SlideFire equipped lower, and this dang "wrench" doesn't want t...

Re: 5.56mm Green Tip M855 Could be banned

Good points. However, if ammo becomes too difficult to obtain, we may loose the average sportsperson to more readily available pursuits. Some on this board have joked about taking up archery. Okay, I like archery, but not to the exclusion of firearms.

Plus the sound of the action working will preclude actual use for your average thief. Sweet baby Moses in a handbasket. If we can have ONE shotgun thread without this coming up my head will explode with happiness. "What was that sound Carl, was that a shotgun action?" "Naw, just a high capacity han...

Picked up a Glock 17 today, headed out to a friend's farm. Ten rounds in the mag, level it at the target, holding it one-handed to avoid manufacturing an unregistered AOW. Squeeze off the first round. Jam! What the??!? Clear it, look it over,"Oh, yeah." Re-insert the mag, now with nine rounds, hold ...

Re: 5.56mm Green Tip M855 Could be banned

In a world of limited resources, a choice has to be made, as to which calamity to prep for first. We must remain vigilant on all fronts, it'd probably be a good idea to contact your congress persons, and remind them of your opinion on these matters. Ideally, those of us in the community would alread...

I just go out on the front porch every night, and fire off two rounds from the ol' coach gun. Ya know, as a preventative measure. "Two blasts a day, keeps the burglars away."

Re: 5.56mm Green Tip M855 Could be banned

At the risk of going too political, we can see that the Democratic Party is firmly in the pocket of the ammo lobby. Today's congress couldn't pass water, nevermind a law. But, I went ahead and bought into the panic, ordered a thousand rounds of SilverBear, for mag dump fodder. 'Cause it's not realit...
