can I still use them in my Offense Gun? As in gaining new territory, or invading the neighbors? Generally considered illegal, and therefore not to be discussed here. Except in observation of Columbus Day. Somebody mentioned being vilified in the press. Mofo's been dead for nigh on 500 years, and he...

Guys like that believe this is the first generation of old people to complain about young people. What was it attributed to Socrates? The children now love luxury; they have bad manners, contempt for authority; they show disrespect for elders and love chatter in place of exercise. Children are now ...

So, anyway, is the Ghost trigger worth installing on a Glock 17? Or should I spend the dough on something better? Honestly, I might just stick with the stock trigger, I'm just looking for opinions.

Re: Talk me out of a revolver

I'm going to go the other way (I think), and recommend a 9mm revolver. Ruger's LCR 9 looks like a pretty decent value, IMO. Or you could go for a single action 357 with a 9mm conversion cylinder. Two options I've been juggling in my head to avoid stocking another caliber while scratching that revolv...

Re: Working the action of a lever gun?

You'll also want to remember to pay attention to trigger discipline. Keep that finger out of the trigger guard until you're ready to shoot, especially when operating the action. This will help reduce negligent discharges, and with a lever gun has the added benefit of avoiding pinching or impaling yo...

Re: Firearms Chat 3: #pewpewlife

So, in this month's Guns & Ammo a reader wrote in to talk up the M1 Garand which he used in the service, said .223 is great "maybe for prairie dogs and woodchucks" and then sneered at hunters who "entered the woods with a big, heavy, black and clumsy rifle". That was, like, the most ultra-Fudd stat...

Getting anxious for the 22TCM9R conversion kit for Glocks. Supposed to be out early May or so, but I'm not holding my breath (deadlines seem to be vague suggestions in the gun industry.) Starting to collect parts to race gun/range toy my Glock 17.

Re: Cheap 9mm or. 22 hand gun

Cheaper Than Dirt has MecGar mags for the 2022 for $27.25 plus shipping(order a few so it doesn't hurt so bad). I've heard some good reports on MecGars, but haven't run any myself. Their OEM mags are still $40 a piece.

Re: Firearms Chat 3: #pewpewlife

Huh. I was familiar with the carbon-deposit issue, but not erosion in the cylinder. How long does it take to see that? Just a thought, it may be more of a corrosion issue, especially with the older powders, if you don't clean the chambers on a regular basis. Some old timer shoots a bunch of 38 thro...

Huh, I'd heard about that when running 22shorts in the old 22short/long/long rifle manual action rimfires, but for some reason, I'd never made the connection to 38/357. I suppose the same would be true with 44 special/ 44 mag, as well. edit: Anybody have many rounds through a Governor? Does running ...

Meh
I've seen factory rounds fail to fire, too. Stuff happens. That's why we do malfunction drills. Normal capacity magazines help too, but aren't always viable for concealed carry.

I have a "Sound of Shotgun Slide" app on my phone. Ne'er-do-wells hear that, and scamper the other way.

Re: Its finally here. (Single stack Glock)

What I'd really like is a poster with the Glock-Safe Action Pistol logo and "Collect 'Em All!" below it. Or maybe a tin sign. Figure I might pick up a 43 in about a year or so, give the true believers first crack at them. Plus make sure all the bugs are worked out. A Ruger LCR 9 is really calling to...

Re: What is your faviorite Defensive Pistol Caliber

The guy at Guns and Ammo appears to be a media type, and is therefore likely wrong.( :) ) Last time I looked at the ATF definition, a pistol had a single fixed chamber behind a rifled barrel. This would include mare's legs and break action single shots, but not revolvers. Of course, if you use both ...

Re: The All Purpose AK Thread

I ordered a couple of Polish AK receiver blanks from Sportsman's Guide. Haven't really nailed down many details yet, mostly waiting for them to show up before I move any further. Showed up today. As I expected, no rails inside, but suprisingly the x and y stampings are present. So now I gotta figure...

I'm testing one of the mags Cabela's had on sale online a while back,$4.99 each. JST, I think it was, doesn't seem to be marked on the mag itself. Non-scientific, just satisfying curiousity.

Re: Long term setback test of reloaded ammo in BOB/INCH

Along a similar vein, I'm currently running a test on a cheap AR mag. Loaded it up with thirty rounds, stuck it in a grocery sack, then stuck it in the trunk of my daily driver. That'll subject it to temperature cycles and vibrations that might combine with the spring tension to split the polymer ho...

Re: What have you bought in the last 48 hours?(firearms rela

Sportsmans Guide had some Polish AK receiver blanks fairly cheap, so I grabbed a couple. Now I gotta gather up my AK parts, figure out what's compatible and what still needs to be procured.

Thinking about marking one as a Colt Commando, due to the recent TFB post on Mexican ZipSubmachineguns.

Sorry I can't tell you anything about the gun, but it looks good. I like the use of a charging handle to prop it up, rather than a pen or shot shell.
