Re: Best things to stock up on for lighting?

I just returned from a prepper convention where I bought some lights from Waka Waka and various UV designs. I never seen these before and was interested in trying them out. The Waka Waka stuff can be used as a flashlight or reading light, is solar powered and can charge cell phones, ipods and other ...

Re: Spoiled preps, your suffering is our joy

Regardless, since apparently rice ends up tasting like plastic after a while if you leave it in the bags (I did not know that), it wasn't that big of a loss. What kind of rice were you buying? I would assume you guys are getting the 20lb. bags from Asian supermarkets for $8-10. Most of those come i...

If I owned a supermarket, I would charge the normal price for the first case of water and something more exorbitant for any additional cases to discourage hoarding and reselling.

Re: Realistic Ammo Stockpile Per Gun?

Now comes the question of how much defensive ammo a regular human will realistically use. If it was the movies the hero would no doubt live his whole life shooting bad guys everyday before going out at the ripe old age of 70  But in reality I suspect he's dead by the time he gets to the 50th r...

I've got four ARs next to my desk, three ARs by the front door, four ARs in the living room, one AR in the garage, and two ARs and five handguns by the bed. All the other firearms are in the safe. :awesome:

Re: Time for a new minivan. Suggestions, experience etc.

If you're buying used, then the third gen Odyssey (2005-2010) was considered the best minivan of that era. It always came out on top of every minivan comparison. The Sienna was always runner-up.

Re: Help me pick a 9mm

I own a Glock 17 and a S&W M&P9. Like you, I find something a bit awkward about the Glock and do not shoot as well with it. Some say it's the recoil or the grip angle. The S&W is a great alternative at around the same price point. Plus, you can swap out the barrel ($70) and magazines ($35) and have ...

Re: I've got 10,000 to spend

Y u mad, bro? When I said "set up any way you want", I didn't mean custom shop work. I meant that their off the shelf models are available in a wide variety of configurations that will fit anyone's needs, for under 2k. Wow, way to backtrack! Problem is off the shelf DD rifles can go for over...

Re: I've got 10,000 to spend

Your knowledge of MSRP (and strange willingness to pay full MSRP for every item) is very impressive, I hereby concede the debate. You win. Happy? You told the guy to customize any DD rifle for under $2K. Where else is he going to get it custom built outside of DD? I had to wait weeks on their wait ...

Re: I've got 10,000 to spend

No, just you, I guess. The MSRP on the v7 is just over 1500. If you payed $700 more for an SSA trigger and a chrome BCG, yeah dude, you got taken up the ass hard. Maybe that isn't it, and you "customized" more than that. I'm sure you could add $700 worth of accessories, if, again, you just really r...

Re: I've got 10,000 to spend

Sorry you got ripped off, brother. ;-) I don't know if you realize, but DD raised their prices at the beginning of the year. My v.2 was $1400 in December and now I believe it is around $1800. My customized v.7 with SSA trigger and chrome BCG ran $2200 out the door. That's simply the MSRP that DD ch...

Yeah I realize I'm going to have to wait until the gun craze is over ! I also realize that 10000 is way to much , haha You don't really have to wait. Most prices are back to MSRP though availability can be an issue. $10K is not too much; you need to budget more if you want ammo and accessories to g...

Re: I've got 10,000 to spend

You can get a DD set up any way you want for under 2,000. Nope. I have a DD coming this week that went well over $2000. Don't forget that they will add about $200 for some BS federal build tax. $10,000 isn't that much, but this is how I'd budget it (all prices after tax and fees): - shotgun: Benell...

A united Korea would therefore give China an opportunity to extend its influence over the whole Korean peninsula. I disagree. China has been doing everything it can to prevent a united Korea. It would mean the U.S. would be at its doorstep. Therefore, they've been propping up NK even though its a P...

Re: Dawgboy's "public transit" GHB

You've obviously never tried to walk through the aftermath of a tornado (I assume hurricanes would be similar, but I've never experienced one). You cannot simply walk from A to B with a normal pace and posture. You walk a couple of steps, then have to climb carefully over a debris pile. That's one ...
