Technically more of a bug in item but $95 bucks for a 1k generator seems decent enough to me.

Re: Role Playing- what type of gun would you choose?

So I initially chose the Saiga but was not really looking at the ancillary information. If I had I would have voted Beretta for the main reason of a convenient reload. This is assuming urban usage and not having to leave to hunt.

Re: eye sight and optics issues

Slick I have a long eye relief 1-4x with QD mount laying around. Get used to leftie manipulation, and when we link up I will bring the millet and you can try it out. If you like it we can work something out since I do not have a current use for it. I have a bit of cross eye dominance as well, but ha...

I will let you work out cost with him as I got a bit of a deal. I think standard price is sub 50 though. And BTW my FNP has the notch, but nary a problem.

Re: The All Purpose AK Thread

Can anyone talk me out of the fixed 2.5x from PA for my AK when it comes out? Assuming the glass itself is decent this scope would cover all of my optics needs IMO. My AK is my GP rifle so it gets used from 25 yards out to ~200 yards and to me this is where 2.5x magnification would be ideal. Also th...

Re: what are your thoughts on FNP9?

I have not looked for a notch on mine yet. I might have to clean it in order to find the notch lol. I am approaching 1k w/o cleaning and have been firing Tula the last 200 rounds and WWB for the remaining 800. So needless to say it is a bit carbony. As far as accessories, I happen to know someone wh...

Honestly it looks like a worn as hell buffer. I had a couple in the army that looked almost identical to that.

Re: what are your thoughts on FNP9?

I only have roughly 1500 rounds through mine, but have only had 1 issue ever, and I still say the FTE was due to my buddies old lady limp wristing something fierce.
I would jump on a deal like that one. The mags are worth almost 200 alone.

Re: 1897 restoration

Supposedly a buddy of mine has access to a machine that is able to test the hardness of the metal. All of the wood is missing, which leads me to believe it was removed rather than burnt off. If nothing else I will restore it to wall hanger status. If I do go that route, I will most likely trim a few...

I will be taking pics throughout the process. The first pic will be after my range trip with my in-laws. I will be milking my BIL for AK advice, since he has been in and out of theater for the last 5 years with a very HSLD unit that makes my infantry unit look like boy scouts. Sent from my MB886 usi...

1897 restoration

My usual late night cashier at the local wal mart, has seen my many ammo purchases and asked if I would like a project gun. I asked how projecty and how much. He stated he had am old Winchester for $15. It had been through a fire. I figured for 15 it was worth a gamble. There is no wood left, and lo...

TLO primary Arms has a new microdot in stock for about the same price as an NCStar POS. With Marsh you get great customer service and a whole lot better quality optic. Image

Re: Ear protection

I have been running Surefire Defender EP-4's. They are great for hunting or semi low round count range trips. I do not know if I would want to wear them to a class, but my typical 1-200 round trips they work well for even w/o inserting the red flange, and this is with an AMD-65 and its stock brake.

Re: Case stuck in AR chamber

Trusting someone to lube your weapon is almost on par with trusting them to clear your weapon. If I don't see lube physically applied it ain't there, much like if I don't physically see an empty chamber it ain't empty. Bubba's gun sales is not as trustworthy as my eyes and fingers. Just sayin.

Re: Gloves for AK/ work

Never was a huge fan of nomex. Maybe it was the stench it acquired after a week or two in the desert. It kinda smelled like a mix between cookie dough and sun roasted anus. Add a dab of various POL products and it was always a horrid stench. Kinds miss driving the old Bradley.

That looks nice. How will it mount to your belt? Could you show pics of the back? Thx, Dabster, JaOwens' holster attaches to the belt with Malice clips, which work great for Molle/Pals webbing, Alice belts and also on 1.75 inch belts. I use them for EDC purposes on my Blackhawk riggers belt all the...

Re: Gloves for AK/ work

Coldest I have hunted in was roughly minus 20 counting windchill. That was miserable and i don't plan on ever doing that again. At least not with my current gear. I would want warmth in the high twenties at the extreme for that type of glove. Anything colder and i can just take a bulkier glove of fo...
