Re: do you mow your lawn in a paw?

In an extreme SHTF Situation/PAW I'd want : Slightly overgrown grass (not so much where someone could actually use it as concealment though) and maybe a couple of abandoned burnt out cars in front of the house flush with the porch (more cover for us inside besides what I'd improvise along the insid...

Re: Would you eat canned dog or cat food?

A story my in-laws used to tell. My father-in-law served in both the air-force and navy during his military career. His wife traveled with him back then from base to base (Iceland to the Azores) they would hang out with other married military couples, and knew of one couple that fought a lot. The hu...

Re: do you mow your lawn in a paw?

[quote="ZombieGranny"]I'm bumping this up, as I have something concrete to add. Our lawn mower dropped dead 3 minutes into the first mow of the year. Due to weird circumstances we have not been able to replace it yet, so this is the result and the reason why my answer is still "Yes, I will mow". Acr...

Re: Bugging Out to Wal-Mart, Costco, Sams Club: No!

Maybe this has been mentioned but I only managed to read about 15 of the 50 or so pages in this thread  . But the weakest thing about the superstore plan, especially a Wal-Mart one, that I always thought was that they don't really have *that* much food. Sure for a small family or group it woul...

Re: Storing tortillas?

Has anyone ever tried vacuuming sealing tortillas for long term storage? Is it possible for them to keep if you packed them with oxygen absorbers? I was wondering if anyone has done this with some success and can attest to how long they keep for. Thanks in advance! I have an open pack in my desk, e...

depends on the medication, some medicines can be stockpiled, pain killers for instance. I agree prescribed medicine is a problem especially anything one takes on a regular basis, some doctors let you double up, mine dosent. I skip a dose of my meds every now and then ( not always on purpose, someti...

Some of that, you can prep for. For instance, if I have to take metformin, I can grow galega officinalis as a PAW substitute. This says to NOT do that http://www.all-about-beating-diabetes.com/galega-officinalis-goats-rue-for-diabetics.html The most important ingredient of Galega officinalis is a m...

We chain, and deadbolt all doors, each door has an alarm on it. Also prop things at the doors to make then harder to open if kicked in. Always have a handgun within reach ( my wife keeps one with her when at the computer ), and I answer the door with a gun in my hand. Also do yard work/walk the dog/...
