Burying a bunker protects against nuclear attack and tornadoes, and has the added advantage of being less conspicuous than an above ground structures. The three biggest disadvantages of a buried structure are water, water and water. Followed by structural concerns associated with loads placed on th...

Re: Is it safe to drink pool water?

We have a 20,000 gallon in-ground pool, problem is we have not uncovered it in several years ( I'm kinda scared to now, that water is gonna look gross !). But we have planned on using it in SHTF situations for flushing toilets. Always thought of it like a big pond , no chemicals have been added to i...

Definately taking Barney (though we hope to bug in if it ever comes to it) he's a 74 pound black lab/german shepard/Burmese Mtn dog mix. He is my wife's body guard, she works at home with her computer, and he lays by her side all day. Big surprise for whomever knocks on the door. http://i112.photobu...

Re: Anyone Planning to GET BACK HOME?

I have a bag in my car at all times, and recently I added a bag in my office at work. The office bag can not have a weapon (company policy frowns on weapons in the work place for some odd reason) and 3 days worth of MREs and energy bars. In my car I have a bowie knife, machete, and baseball bat. Can...

By now my level of frustration is quickly on the rise, why you ask?? Curious to know what the neighbors think you are building? If TSHTF, you don't want everyone around you banging on the door wanting in.
