Re: Raised Bed Build for $55

RockX- Don't sweat it man. I use untreated lumber all the time. I have shit here on the compound that has been up and running for years. So it only lasts three years then you have to buy more wood. Who cares brotha? You got three years worth of veeggies out of the deal. Don't let the armchair quarte...

Re: Depressed... I feel like theres no hope.

Brandy- Let's face it, on a long enough time line all our chances of survival are a big fat "0" (thank you Tyler). I mean we are all gonna die someday. There's no way around it. That said, all you can do is INCREASE YOUR CHANCES of survival. You can't ensure them. If the raging hordes come for you i...

Re: Eye glasses in a PAW

I just wanted to post a review of Zenni Opitical. I ordered 3 pair of glasses. ipr of sunglasses for my wife, 1pr of sunglasses for my son, and a pair of rimless, light-weight with anti-reflective coating. All three, including shipping, were less than $50. They arrived about three weeks later. They ...

Urban- I agree with you. The first time I had to go out and slaughter 10 rabbits, I felt like a heartless animal. It was not pleasent at all, and you know what...it shouldn't be. The realities of consuming meat mean that something is gonna die for your food. People should have to experiance that. It...

Midway is on indefinate backorder. Honestly folks, just get a hacksaw and a pipe cutter. Mark the barrel with the pipe cutter and slice the barrel with a hacksaw. run some light emory cloth over the cut and VIOLA! shorter barrel.

Re: Need advice on Mosin Nagant

You need some ammonia in the water to dissolve the corrosive salt. Use windex, then swab and oil. i wouldnt say "NEED" unless youv got some chemistry to back it up. iv yet to see any from anyone that suggest ammonia effects the corrosive salts actually give some chemistry behind it I really HATE ad...

Re: Riot barrel Mossberg 500

My advice: Skip the ATI top folder. Absolute garbage. Wise words. I had mine one for about 5 minutes before I realised it was shit. I got one of the M4 collapsable stocks for my mossy. Real comfortable. I took the shell holders off though, they were in the way BIG TIME. http://pics.gunbroker.com/GB...

Coal slurry disaster in TN

Looks like there was a HUGE (500 million gallons) dump of coal slurry into the water system. No main stream media coverage as of yet. I'm trying to find out the impact on the water supply.

Re: Getting into this game late. Please advise.

OP, you have definatly waited until the proverbial "last minute" :) That said, I would advise you get a 12ga pump, either a Mossberg 500 or a Remington 870. The 12 guage is the most versitile weapon platform yo ucan own. There is an ammo for nearly any purpose. My second purchase would be a Mosin Na...

Re: Desalinization?

A solar distiller would be a great option. With the use of a few large magnifying lenses you could easily boil water in a large stock pot, then use a 'still' type coil to condense your steam. Just google around for a solar distiller and I'm sure you will find some plans. :) EDIT: Did some legwork fo...

Re: 2 3/4" or 3" 00 Buck

I agree with the #4 buckshot. I use 3" #4 buck. they have 41 pellets per round. Yes...41. A 2 3/4" #4 has 27. I think the extra 1/4" is worth the hassle. The 3" #4 buck cost $6.49 for 5 rounds. The cost of 2 3/4" 00 is $5.97 per 5 rounds. For .10 a round extra I get 32 more pellets per shot. Seems l...
