I'd go for that surge, if nothing else just because its a great value since it comes with the knife and bit set. and, because as stated above, Leathermans rock your socks right off. I like them better than the Gerbers because the ergonomics, and durability, are superior. IMHO. My Leatherman Surge h...

My mother-in-law used to be pretty active in Party Lite. As a result, my wife has boxes and boxes and boxes of all sorts of different scented (and colored candles) as well as party lite brand matches.

Now if I could just get the other supplies up to that level of preparation...

I bought a Surefire E2E today. I've been thinking about it for awhile now, have had other cheap flashlights and the Surefire blows them out of the water.

Hurts the eyes too.

The test of time will justify the expense or not, so far I'm impressed with it...we shall see.

Re: Woodchipper

Okay just an idea but what if set a trap and led zombies into a woodchipper that was hidden. Like just sit in a lawn chair with a megaphone and taunt them until they fall into a hidden pit with a wood chipper. Just wear eye and mouth protection so blood dosent get in you eyes. Should be as funny as...

Re: Caught at work

What will you do if you are at work or college and the undead rise away from your stronghold? ... What would you do? For example you're on the freeway and a bunch of the undead swarm rush hour traffic or in an office building and you hear silence for too long look out the window and see nothing. ob...

I guess I'll rate myself average. If these are Romero-slow zombies, I think I could cope better and probably take out more than the same kind of zeds from Dawn of the Dead (2004) . All boils down to the situation...if I turn a corner and run into one of those beasties I might have a harder time keep...

Sounds like a business opportunity to me. Laser tag meets survival horror, perhaps?

ZS should set this up. :)

Are you sure securing your current homestead is completely out of the question? The first impulse most people have when bad things happen is to rush out to some other location. While I'm also of the opinion that your choices will change depending upon the type of the situation as well as the stage, ...

Re: choose your bug out location wisely...

Probably not a good idea here. I only mentioned this because it could possibly be a danger to be aware of while bugging out, camping,or hunting. The last thing we need is a parent lurking on this forum and finding info on booby traps. "Oh my God,what are these people teaching my childeren!" Not tryi...

I'm still very new to the whole BOB prep thing, but I have my eye on a medium framed ALICE pack for my new bag. Re: choose your bug out location wisely...

Some people like to grow weed in the woods, and some have set up home made boobie traps. The more popular ones are thin wire strung with fish hooks,(the idea being to snag you in your eyes),and some growers go so far as to capture rattlers, and nail their tails into the ground. Makes for a very grump...

Hi, ... I'll likely just buy the one handgun, so am wondering about caliber...which do you prefer, what are the relative costs of feeding my pistol, where do you draw the line on stopping power versus phallic compensation? I've always been a fan of 9mm. Stopping power is kind of a large issue, I'd ...

I used to amass a giant collection of survival materials, but I found that it's deceiving; you download/print/save the info in question and have a false piece of mind for when an emergency happens.
