Re: melee weapons of choice
I've always wanted to weaponize a T-post. Sharpen the blade and the end near the blade and you ought to really have something. Even just if pulled out of the ground you'd have something deadly as hell. And they are literally everywhere in America Go hit a little tree with one, or just grab as wide ...

so much ignorance here. If shtf, nobody's going to be working at the water plant or the power plant. There will be no pumps to get the water up into the water towers, so no water pressure. If you pee into the drain, it will stink to HIGH heaven unless you waste a lot of water washing it away. Just ...

this post is meaningless? What size target? Is he holding still? Nice daylight? no camo, no brush in the way? Am I taking effective fire? What about wind drift and/or mirage? Is there a lot of smoke or dust? is it raining? have I got a scope? Is the scope lense clean? Do I have a lot of glare to de...

Re: Press therapy - reloading room *chat*
Haven't been in this thread in a long while, and am back to apartment living. Any recommendations for a reloading bench that won't take up a ton of real estate and won't look so horrible that my wife will want to kill me? I desperately need to start loading for my Ackley's again. During my apartmen...

shoot me your address in a PM and I will send it to you free of cost. Its just taking up space here and not something I will ever use so I figured I would pass it onto members here that could use it. I think there are only 10-15 10mm casings so no big deal. If you want the 38 Super and 357 sig as w...

Everyones protocols are different, so I am always curious - 2 hours should have been enough time for dependent lividity. Our protocols say say DL means no extreme measures. I have seen where some departments have zero documented threshold for discontinuation of resuscitation, even when it is beyond ...

I have a shelf full of powders, marked with best load for x - then I have a shelf full of varget. Varget has ran well in everything I have tried including 223/556 gas and bolt, 308/7.62 nato gas, roller, bolt, 7mm08 bolt, 6mmBR bolt, 243 bolt, 260rem gas, and several others. While its only "best" in...

Don't forget the zombie rounds.
No, not the hornady marketing fad -
Real deal, 5mm rimfire? Dead and gone, aguila comes along and boom - zombies.
30 carbine, wasnt dead - but was close enought to start smelling.
Others?

Re: Bear Skulls???
While the only bear Ive ever shot was standing - so went for the heart, Ive shot plenty of Texas wild hogs. Nasty critters with skull Brinks would be proud of. I can personally attest to a bullet ricocheting from a running hogs head. I was the shooter, from a slightly elevated position (kneeling in ...

Re: if its not an auto that fits in your pants pocket
I have to disagree, while there is a time and place for pocket autos - they are not the end all be all of EDC. I alternate between a full size 1911 (might fit in my pocket, duluth firehose pants) an a Springfield XD Tactical (5 inch double stack 45). The xd gets the most holster time but neither are...

HK51a3, because the difference between cover and concealment is important.
For less lethal, I'll take a tippman TIPX pepperball pistol - stings a bit, without as much potential collateral damage.

While the equine serum May help, the typical treatment is human rabies immune globulin 20iu/kg (btw US prices will put you out several thousand dollars here) as well as the rabies vaccine on days 3, 7, and 14. I have never encountered surefires warranty dept, but my local streamlight dealer handles warranty issues in store - he has replaced several lights for me over the years. Most recently it was a streamlight UV stylus - I dropped it without the little dinky cap/cover. Not a defect, just fumble fingers...

Sticker shock Its everywhere. I will admit, I have spent just spent over a thousand dollars on gloves, although that was for several pairs. They are not great, poor dexterity - retail water, good for only 3 or 4 good outings then disposed. But like all things, the laws of supply and demand apply. Th...

Used up some severely expired (05/2007) cyalume sticks. Kids got white 30m high intensity on safety pins front and 2hr reds on rears. Despite age and very poor storage conditions (last 1.5-2 yrs behing the seat of my truck, in Texas) the lights were surprisingly bright and still useful for spotting ...
