Yup....HF....Cheap...yet effective.

Another piece of the puzzle....

Also got a heat gun.....and dug out my scroll saw.

I think I can run the nuts down before it cools....especially if I weld handles to them.

If not....I can make some DEEP, deep well sockets....and use 2 electric impacts. That's the benefit to owning a fabrication shop...

The pedal is made from a piece of diamond plate....and the compression plates I made from C12x10.5 channel iron and 1" flat bar.

Just arrived yesterday.....

It's the same finish on the GI Issue KBars....Mine still looks good.....and it's been going for 20 yrs +

Didn't like the powder coat that was on it....to rough.

Started off by pulling the handles....

Sprayed it about 4 times with paint stripper to cut powder coat....

Sand blasted....

Heated solution to 170F....

Submersed knife.....bubbles....

Bubbles stop.....

Pull and rinse....

Dry....

Oil liberally.....

Reassemble....
