Re: "Walking Dead" Cable Series

I have always believed the Zombie Virius was spead through the Birds. In the very first scene of Episode #1 Season #1 they show a raven poking at some roadkill. In every intro they show birds. In the new intro for Season #4 they have a new clip of several birds flying out from a tree as if frieghten...

Re: What presents for 13 year old prepper?

A good quality slingshot perhaps. Good to start young. Multi-tool. Telescopic Fishing Pole to go in his pack. LED Flashlight, perhaps a LED Headlamp. The Fenix HL30 is what I have and love it. It is Waterproof and runs on two AA Batteries as opposed to three AAA batteries like most headlamps do.

Re: Best .45 ACP for concealed carry

Others here have mentioned the Glock 30 and Springfield XD series which are excellent Carry Concealed options no doubt. The Smith & Wesson M&P "Shield" is only chambered in 9mm and .40S&W, however the Standard S&W M&P Compact is chambered in those calibers as well as .45ACP and is worthy of checking...

Re: M&P Compact 9mm for CCW

My thinking is that one should try out various weapons and choose the one you can comfortably and accurately shoot I totally agree! I have either owned and or shot Glock's, 1911's, Beretta's, Sig Sauer's, HK's, WWII German Luger etc. However I have never shot an XD/M Springfield, Walther or Kahr. I...

Re: M&P Compact 9mm for CCW

So I went and purchased my M&P 9c this last Monday morning and took it to the range. Range Report: 108 shots fired using 50 rounds Federal 124 grain FMJ, 50 rounds of German produced Geico 115 grain FMJ and 8 rounds of Winchester Critical Defense Bonded JHP +P 147 Grain. At 7+ Yards (21ft-23ft) I sc...

M&P Compact 9mm for CCW

After a long long time of trying to decide which compact handgun to get for CCW I have decided to go ahead and purchase a Smith & Wesson M&P Compact in 9mm. I was seriously thinking of saving up and going with the Sig P229 but personally found it to be too bulky for CCW. I also really like the HKP30...

Also jealous! The Steyr AUG, HK416, and M1A/M14 have been my favorite Personal Defense Rifles for years.

Congrats man!

I am also a big JOE fan myself. Have been since 1982. I have almost every JOE and Cobra toy made during 1982-86. Yeah I'm a nerd. I would trade them all for that Steyr AUG though.

Re: Bump in the night guns

Once when I was home sleeping after working graveyard shift I was awoken by an intruder that had broken into my home at 1:00PM. The only firearm I owned at the time was my 12 Gauge Remington 870 Express Super Magnum. Once the burglar realized someone was home he fled. I cleared my home top to bottom...

+1 on the Goalzero Solarpanel Charger, Eberlestock pack, and the M&P's. Awesome Gear! A bit jealous to tell you the truth. All I can say is do what works for you. Test your gear out in the field under different conditions and see how it holds up. From what I have seen it looks like you have quality ...

Re: What have you bought lately? (Bug Out Version)

Ok not exactly something to go on or in my bag but I did purchase a pair of new Maelstrom "Landship" 8 inch Sidezip Waterproof boots. Normally I wear Original SWAT Boots but I have decided to try something new. The Original SWAT boots are excellent and they do work for me but I want to see if these ...

Re: New-ish to Handguns. Advice?

Just go get a Glock. Everything else sucks!

Just kidding of course. Actually the Glock 17 or Glock 19 is always a fine option for those new to shooting handguns. I would also recommend checking out the Smith & Wesson M&P series, Beretta PX4, Baby Eagle II, or the CZ-P01.

If that isn't possible I'll settle for a Guiness as well.
I also like Grolsch. Tastes fine when served warm too.

+1 on a Wood burning stove and the Ruger 10/22 Take Down.

I would purchase a firearm of some sort first. A Ruger 10/22 is a excellent survivalist tool.

Re: "Walking Dead" Cable Series

I already have TWD withdrawls and had to watch "The Myst" last night and a couple of 1st Season episodes of TWD.
There is always the X-Files but I have seen every episode at least three times over.

I'll probably watch "Night of the Living Dead" 1990 tonight.

Re: Debating between Beretta 92 and Taurus PT92

For CCW I would take a look at the Beretta PX4 instead. Lighter weight and snag free features. I wouldn't go with the Taurus. Don't get me wrong the quality of Taurus is much better then years before but the Beretta 92fs is better. I have owned mine since 2001 and love it. I have never had one singl...

1. HK45 Designed by Larry Vickers & Ken Hackathorn. Is a .45ACP. Great ergonomics and weight distribution. High Quality. Safe to carry cocked and locked with the manual safety engaged. Nothing really bad to say about it, except perhaps the price. 2. SAKO TRG-22 (.308) Superior design and craftsmensh...

I would like to suggest a M&P in .40S&W or .45ACP. 9mm is still very scarce and who knows what the price will be once it is more readlily available. The demand is way high right now so.... You should really look at a M&P before buying anything else. Great all around firearm. By the way I am not sayi...

Congrats to all of you that are getting a IWI Tavor! I would love one but I am trying to save up for a new house. IWI makes quality weapons and the Tavor is a prime example. I wouldn't have bought a Jericho/Baby Eagle II if this wasn't the case. Well maybe someday I will purchase a Tavor. I have had...

Re: What have you bought in the last 48 hours?(firearms rela

Friend of mine went to Wally World months ago to purchase some .45ACP for his HK45 and they had three boxes of .40S&W placed directly behind one box of .45ACP. He told the clerk he needed four boxes and they accidently sold him just one 50 round box of .45ACP and three 50 round boxes of .40S&W. He f...
