Re: What Did You Do Today To Prepare?

Bought a new-to-me refurbished laptop. While it isn't part of what most people would consider "normal" prepping, for me having a working computer is vital. Even without internet connectivity it can occupy my "down" time and keep me entertained. With the wife and I planning on living out of a travel ...

Re: Utah man survives for three weeks in Alaskan wilderness

Being a tropical sea level creature I cannot even imagine the conditions and all of the risks here. That said cold and conditions like these clearly are quickly life threatening and hazardous. I do however have an office in Gillette, WY and go there in the winter for work. They get little snow but ...

Welcome to ZS. Your account seems fine to me. Your previous post is properly credited to you and I see no errors that would cause the issue you report. If you're retired then you and I might be close in age, and I was a Navy Gunner's Mate. When were you in? It's a very slim chance but it would be f...

Re: The Coming Civil War - (Warning: No Politics)

Against my better judgment and solely because one member asked very politely to have it reopened and gave reasonable reasons to do so, this thread is now unlocked again. However, this is the absolute last chance for this thread. Screw it up again with anything that goes contrary to the site rules an...

I didn't actually "buy" it, it was a freebie rebate kind of thing and it just arrived today.

Re: Firearms Chat: Yeet Cannon 2 Electric Boogaloo

Speaking of firing pins, I need to remove the one in my Tokarev, but the retaining pin is like frozen in place. The firing pin and channel are the only places I haven't given a thorough cleaning since I got my Tokarev I've smacked the hell out of it with a small punch and my gunsmithing hammer, but...

Re: Firearms Chat: Yeet Cannon 2 Electric Boogaloo

I had a friend over today and showed him this discussion of the Ruger 57. He then drew his carry weapon, cleared it and showed me... he'd just bought a Security 9 two days ago. Now he was to trade it in on a Ruger 57. Oh, and yes, we compared it and the two are very similar.

Re: Firearms Chat: Yeet Cannon 2 Electric Boogaloo

I think I might be more interested in the Ruger-57 if they made a PCC barrel to support it. Unless it's too long to fit the existing mag well of Ruger's PCC? Looking at the photo of the relative cartridge sizes and looking at the magwell inserts for my PC9 I think there's a slight chance it could b...

Read the professional literature on it.
I have a copy of the Merck manual and Physician's Desk Reference from around a decade ago when I last contributed to this website but they are in fact silent on the topic.

Re: Levaquin shelf life

I had a bad thing going on last year, cellulitis infection in my leg. It presented as swelling and redness for which my GP prescribed a ten day course of levofloxacin 500 mg. I took one, saw her the next day, and with no immediate outward signs of improvement, was admitted to hospital with IV vanco...

When I worked as an EMT in the 80s and 90s I carried a million-dollar malpractice policy, and seriously considered upping it to twice that just ...

NONE of the prices you have listed are showing or even close.
You snooze, you lose. All of the prices were valid at the times they were posted, and I can give you a screenshot to prove it because I bought one of each, at those prices.
