Re: Firearms Chat 3: #pewpewlife

I must be subconsciously collecting Ruger guns because I just added a P89 9mm to my collection today. So a friend of mine and I were talking the other day and he mentioned that he was looking for a cheap 1911 to do some work on. I said I had a Rock Island Armory 1911 I was thinking of trading and h...

Re: First real gun safe

Update for those interested: I've decided with the Liberty Colonial 30 from my local liberty dealer, with the upgrades and installation it'll be around 1900 bucks but worth it for what I'm getting. http://www.nwsafe.com/safe-colonial-safes-ps-7.html My roommates also pooled our money and got a monit...

Glock OEM extedned plates

Hey guys I need some Glock help. Bought supposedly what was a glock factory plus 2 extension for one of my glock 19 magazines, but when I got it and installed it only brought the cap up to 16 rounds, not 17. I took it off and saw it said 1, not 2 inside the baseplate so...where can I find a factory ...

Re: Firearms Chat 3: #pewpewlife

Just did my first bit of dremel gunsmithing. Took a buddy to the range with new AR, had a free scope on it, scope is low and left, adjust elevation and... and dammit why won't the side turret come off. Weird ass high speed low drag clone rings had negative clearance with the turret. Whelp, pop it o...

Re: LAPoliceGear.com what a joke.

Haven't ordered from them for a long time, same with USCav. I used to be able to get some good deals, but in the last few years it just seems like I can find it cheaper somewhere else. Haven't had a bad experience with LAPolice or USCav, and everything went smoothly when I used them. First order fr...

Re: Firearms Chat 3: #pewpewlife

But back to the no sales tax...that means I can up my budget a couple hundred bucks I guess. How about free delivery? I bought my two safes from the local Liberty Safe dealer.....they had free delivery* if you lived within 25 miles. *If they had to go up steps, the first two steps were "free". Any ...

Re: Firearms Chat 3: #pewpewlife

Today I learned that at least in my state, there is no sales tax on gun safes. Picked up a locking quick access pistol safe for my CCW guns. The first one I bought I had to return because some idiot locked the keys inside the damn thing...which has an electronic lock...with no provided batteries and...

Re: First real gun safe

First of all, congrats on thinking ahead and planning for your security/storage needs. Seriously, you'd be surprised how many folks don't. That said, for $6-800 you won't be getting a "safe" but rater a residential security container (RSC). Not a problem as I've had a few over the years and still h...

First real gun safe

So I'm moving in the next couple of months (yes its finally happening this time) and for the time being I'll be leaving the vast majority of my firearms at my parents house except for my 12 gauge, my G19 and Snub nosed 442. I'd bring the rest but all I have is a stack-on security cabinet which works...

That's a shame. Hope he can clear it up easily.
it was from when he was like 14 so it should be easy enough to clear up.

So my buddy had an incident last year involving self defense and the use of a firearm. Has he got his gun back yet? How bad was the condition? Has he managed to clean it up? We (well, I) need to know :) Not yet, there was a clerical error with the sherrifs department about his past that he needs to...

Re: Cleaning a blood caked gun

Here in the Evil Empire State there is a basic level of pistol permit, the Target Permit. Mere possession, can bring to pistol range in unloaded condition in a case, cannot leave your home/property. In the city, you have to pre-select a time of the week/month to visit the range, and its printed rig...

Re: Cleaning a blood caked gun

Bit off topic, but I'd like a more detailed account of how his own weapon was turned against him. Preventing the incident goes a long way to avoiding the damage in the first place. He went out drinking one night and parked his car several blocks away so he'd have to walk back. Weapon was located in...
