Re: You need to determine the validity of your own BOB

It's a compliment to ZS that people come here looking for help. Would be a shame to discourage them instead.

What is the most likely "Zombie" scenario in your mind?

Here at ZS, Zombies are obviously a metaphor for wide range of situations or events that people prepare for. For you, what Zombie event(s) is(are) most likely to occur causing you to use at least some of your preparations? My answers in descending order: 1. Weather related event / natural disaster 2...

Re: hearing protection

I have tinnitus. Do everything you can to prevent it. Everything.

I use 30 db muffs combined with earplugs to get maximum protection of about 33-34 db.

Re: Prometheus

Ugh I did not know about Space Jesus until now. Was hoping 2nd movie would have reasonable explanations for this piece of Swiss cheese. Guess I won't be seeing part II.

EDIT: Who'm I kidding I wasn't going to see part II anyways.

Credit card tool

Does anyone carry one of these?

Was looking at Mike Snody's Crises Card and the Microech Assailant II. Both titanium. What do you think, useful gadgets or not and how much would you pay?

Re: Prometheus

RG I think you've put a lot more thought into rationalizing the screenplay than the writers put into writing it. That isn't a slam at you, it's a criticism of them. That's not uncommon in genre fiction: fans papering over plot holes the writer didn't bother to close, fleshing out characters the wri...

Re: Prometheus

I don't think it was as bad as everyone is saying. I think it was that bad. You just alluded to a couple examples of poor characterization and weird tonal shifts. The cast wasn't bad, set and design elements - eh, I dug some of the Icelandic topography . But it was a poorly written, muddled, too ma...

Re: Prometheus

Fassbender was good but Henrikson's Bishop was equally so. In fact there were so many borrowed elements from the previous movies that I felt like I was being served leftovers.

I admit seeing space jockeys in action was nice.

Re: 9mm ammo

My wife would not appreciate +P loads. Regarding 9mm ammo, remember most of it will penetrate all interior walls and an exterior wall ( but not brick/concrete/stone ). I like 147gr, personally, but I've read it may be more of an overpenetration risk than lighter, faster rounds. Stuff to think about ...

Re: Global Debt Time Bomb explodes soon

Now here is a curious bit of finger pointing... As Europe's leaders came under intense pressure to act decisively to cure the euro's ills, and a campaign gathered pace to relax some of the austerity programmes laying waste to countries with unsustainable debt levels, Barroso said Europe had not com...

Same thing happened one month later on new card. Pretty sure I know which restaurant. We process cards on our site and g...
