Re: Fort McMurray Evacuated

Crazy scary news reports about it on BBC news
Watching the news reports I'm surprised that the roads (shown) do not seem to be in total gridlock.

Re: Suicide Bombing in Lahore Pakistan

It isn't just the terror organizations. It is the whole culture trying to stamp out any moderation or toleration. Here is a real facebook tragedy. http://www.foxnews.com/world/2016/03/26/scotland-police-probe-killing-muslim-shopkeeper-who-posted-facebook-easter-message-to-christians.html It is, tha...

Re: Brussels explosions

This is difficult for me to comment on as it has just been confirmed two people I knew from school amongst the dead. This article is a bit political but highlights the failures of Belgian police pretty well. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/belgium/12204241/Belgian-security-is-so-ba...

Brussels explosions

During the Troubles up until the mid to late 1990's the original route to Belfast International Airport was closed off. Instead you had to go on a detour to the airport which took you through military checkpoints, it was a revelation (genuinely) when the checkpoints were removed and the main route w...

Re: Brussels explosions

What disturbs me most about this attack is the speed of this response to the arrest of Salah Abdeslam, assuming of course that this is a response.

The Sheep Farming Thread

Sheddi, it's been difficult because the leg I broke last year has been objecting to the extra workload, the guy we usually have helping us had a hip replacement last autumn, so he couldn't be here. My mother in law also had a hip replacement last autumn, and needs her other hip replaced. My husband ...

Re: The Sheep Farming Thread

I took footage of our pet lambs at feeding time today, also another batch of ewes & lambs being brought in. We are down to just 9 pregnant ewes left, 3 are overdue. One of those 3 is probably going to lamb in the next 24 hours. All of a sudden it feels like the light is at the end of the lambing tun...

The Sheep Farming Thread

This week has been so busy, we only have 20 ewes left to lamb, I've lost count of how many lambs we have. We were running out of space. Last night was the crescendo (I think) At one stage I told mr wee drop not to have a "heart attack over a damn sheep, or I'd dig him up and kick him!" :oh: Another ...

Re: The Sheep Farming Thread

I saw this video on Facebook. Everyone needs an enthusiastic three-year-old :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0G9EFYmo21A :clownshoes: Not with our precious Texels. Bless her, she will be some shepherdess. Update: we have 40 ewes due by Thursday. I wish they would just start lambing, it's like wait...

Re: "Walking Dead" Cable Series

The walkers are mostly disintegrating. In fact the whole thing should be just about over with the Zombies, with the occasional pop-up from those dead and dying. It is a show called the Walking Dead, you know. Just saying :words: Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Though that term is in reference to...

Re: "Walking Dead" Cable Series

For me, Fonzie has strapped on his water skis for this show. Only my investment in the characters keeps me going. Yep, I preferred it when most of the shocks were from Walkers, not other survivors. If I want to see interpersonal agro I'll watch a soap opera :| Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk The...

Re: The Coffee Thread

One thing I've learned recently is the importance of buying freshly roasted coffee. I used to just buy bags of the stuff in grocery stores, but after visiting a local place that had roasted theirs that morning, the experience was night and day. Alas I do not have that opportunity here in deepest No...

Re: The Coffee Thread

I love coffee (also tea though) and hot chocolate. I'm an equal opportunity caffeine imbiber :) If I'm drinking instant coffee I like microground like Starbucks VIA. I got a coffee pod system last year in a half price sale and use it quite a lot, though I do not like the milk pods. A U.K. supermarke...
