Re: When TV shows and movies get it wrong

One I haven't seen mentioned and a pet peeve of mine is the one that screams "I have never fired a live gun in my life" and a complete a total lack of awareness of any level of recoil above that which is found in a blank firing pistol, holding it as far down on the grip as it is possible to get and ...

Re: Mental Illness in a Post Apocalyptic World

Unfortunately too many are too invested in the status quo and acculturation making them cling to what they "know" to be right that they never even think to question the rightness of what they "know" to be right. I have pretty much given up on trying to argue it, people use "it haven't been sufficien...

Re: Mental Illness in a Post Apocalyptic World

I won't argue with you but when more and more doctors and even cardio-vascular surgeons are advising a low carb high fat diet and the official government dietary recommendation for Sweden is a low carb high fat diet it suggest that you are repeating something that is based on old and highly flawed r...

Re: Hiking trailor?

They started from the wrong end, instead of making a trailer that could be carried as a backpack they should have started with a large pack frame and added attachment points for a light weight wheel and handles. You always start with the worst case use and work from that rather the other way around...

Re: How crazy will people get and how long will it take

For gladiatorial games at least 1 month given that in any case would require a sort of organization (no matter how perverse). For gruesome public executions some weeks at the best but less the 1 month. For wandering gangs that raped and pillaged some days (1-2). I would more or less agree with that...

Murphman, having trained with someone that used to be the highest ranking Krav Maga practitioner/instructor in Europe I would say that it was definitively a bad instructor, someone that has gotten into a rut and set in his ways by doing way to many introductory/self defense classes to absolute begin...

Most people that try a tanfoglio end up liking them so you could try out the polymer guns(sold as the Witness-P by EAA) or any of the steel guns(but you have to go elite match(SingeActionOnly) or higher in price to get one that has a good trigger out of the box. Personally I'm becoming a bigger and ...

I'll add to this by saying that if you got into peoples heads there will be a surprisingly large number of people that don't voice or violently act upon their bigotry and insecurities for no other reason than it not being socially acceptable or because they don't thing they can get away with. I spea...

I notice that no one have even mentioned pemmican and I wouldn't mind seeing how it stacks up as it is about as nutrient and calorie dense as it is possible to get and the origin of all survival food.

My interest in Top's was their practical designs and that they had practical designs that weren't available from any other manufacturer(the same reason I like CRKT).

I'm less worried about what they will do to get drugs and more worried about the habits set in place by those drugs, habits like taking what they need and if necessary being violent about it to get what they want(drugs). The drugs may be gone but the habit it set in place will still be there for man...

Re: What would your $300 Cache be?

For trade I'd have to go with booze rather than cigarettes though. There's an expiration date on cigarettes and other tobacco products. In a short amount of time that tobacco will become dried up and useless. Some inexpensive alcohol on the other hand would go a long way and there's no reason to be...
